    Tommy Lloyd postgame radio

Here are a few things I recall listening to Tommy Lloyd on the post game radio show. First, it was inevitable, the second half letdown was discusssed. If you follow basketball you have heard over and over how difficult it is to maintain intensity in the second half after jumping out to a big halftime lead. Tommy, noted however, he'll take that 20 point halftime lead anytime, as when you have that cushion you can typically withstand a run by your opponent, such as Pacific did this evening. Plus he said those letdowns provide "good talking points" for those game film breakdowns. Tommy also discussed the four game homestand as being a bit of a blessing, as those GU team injuries could be dealt with over the two weeks the team was at home, which was much more favorable than working out treatments while traveling. Lloyd noted Barham is doing quite a job recently shooting the three and said Drew is much more comfortable if he can catch the ball, take a breath and then fire away versus having to put up a quicker shot. Hudson and Lloyd noted Dranginnis's 38 minutes, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks, a steal and 8 points, a very good line. Tommy also said it didn't feel like a game where Pacific shot 30% and GU 70%. By the way GU officially shot 69.2 % this evening, the school record is 71.8% vs. SMC in 1996.

Not only was this stretch better for our injured players, the extra time at home provided a comfy environment for the bench to improve.
    Bonjour tristesse.

      TV clips?

Appreciate the summary of Tommy Lloyd's comments. I'm assuming that's from radio. Why have we not seen tv clips of post-game interviews this year? Seems like there was a KREM sports reporter who posted and some GUB members would occasionally chip in.

Tommy Lloyd also talked about the job Dranginis has been doing with Bell out. Said he has been doing an excellent job defensively, not as quick as Bell but makes up for it in other ways...he's taller, plays smart, rebounds, and has good anticipation of what his man will do.

Thanks. Great to see/hear Coach Few and the players sounding very positive about the "team" effort. Coach Few's Eeyore interview persona really got a make-over last year because of the great chemistry/results. I'm happy for him and the program that he's feeling it again this year.
