Spokesman as most of us do...

Will Sam's weight loss and strenght improve his play?

Coach Few mentioned, Sam will be Sam. We (GU) need this youngman to break out!

Will he?

Which new players do you see stepping up this year?

Can anyone expand on the new big guy from Montana? Is he ready to play or redshirt?

Are the transfers going to contribute...out of the gate.

Edwards: He will play this year. Showed vast improvement in the 5 months they've had him. Also on the Travis Knight strength and conditioning program. Very good hands and a soft touch around the basket with his left and right hand. Has a great little jump hook. Depending on recruiting could be a candidate for the Olynyk redshirt program down the road. His tennis player skills/footwork are incredible for a big man.

Meilke: A good player and with the dearth of bigs is banging against guys 80 pounds heavier. Is a candidate for redshirt this year.

From Tommy Lloyd, sounds like Edwards will play.

Overall I think Gary's good health is a more important factor than Sam's weight loss. That is NOT to say that a quicker, stronger and more conditioned Sam is not a very good sign.

We certainly do need all the production and play out of the bigs that we have, but it is tough to argue we have an elite guard combo if one of them is still dragging a foot. We do, however, now have an elite guard combo.

As for our freshman big man - - all we need him to do is take up space underneath, be big, defend a little, pull a few rebounds. Footwork and jump hooks are great to hear, very encouraging, but we have two of the best at those already - he needs to gear up and play his role - sounds like he's off to a great start.
