    How accurate are preseason polls? Mark Schlabach looked at the difference between the AP's preseason and final rankings over the last 10 years and saw some interesting trends.


    Check out the third most overrated team.

          I think the gist of the article is interesting. Yes, I do get some guilty pleasure in seeing Purple and chicken yellow being at the top of that overrated list.

          That being said, I think it shows how much polls are just garbage when you see teams ranked just on name alone. I know in football this is more assuredly the case since so many teams have similar records. Hoops gets it too, but I feel the cream of the crop tend to percolate to the top of the polls by the end of the season. While it was posted as a jab at our Huskie friends I found it interesting.
