Will be at Grand Canyon University. I have read that some on this board really like Casey Benson. Not sure what he has planned for the other 4 visits. You would think Gonzaga would get a visit.

He had a great visit to New Mexico with his father. Must've been an unofficial if he has 4 remaining officials left after Grand Canyon. I like his game.

That would require Gonzaga to be recruiting him. Which at this point they aren't.

Seems like a nice player. Don't know a ton about him but like what I saw in some video.

Sorry off the subject, but what ever happend to Bryan Alberts? He visited last year but then dissapeared, its hard to find any info on him regarding his recruiting.

I thought Grand Canyon University was an online college.

Didn't they just move into Division I? I also think they just fired their old coach and hired someone from the Phoenix Suns.

They are private Christian university here in Phoenix that offers bachelors, masters and doctoral programs. Their mascot is the Antelope and they have sports teams ('Lopes). I saw a concert in their arena once (much bigger than many of the highschool-esque gyms in the WCC).

The University of Phoenix, on the other hand...

I did not know Gonzaga pulled the offer.

That Scout, Verbal Commits and ESPN all still show Casey Benson with an offer. If I remember right, he did visit ( unofficial ) Gonzaga last year.

Just before everyone freaks out about him going to Oregon, let it be known that the Zags haven't recruited Benson for the past several months.

Perkins is plan A, B, and C for the PG spot in 2014. That said, Benson should be a very solid Duck.

I never really thought he was in heavy consideration anyway. Perkins, or Small in 2015 will do.

You didn't hear? Perkins, Small, Reid and Sabonis all signed with Oregon. Oregon ran out of scholarships but they promised them discounts on shoes. Word is recruits couldn't turn down the chance to play at Oregon and get half off their shoes. Oh, and Melson called Few b/c he wants to give it some more thought, he didn't know a shoe discount was available.

I wonder what plan D is for 2014.

Nice to have Oregon burn a scholarship on someone who wasn't a priority for us.

Are we not recruiting McLaughlin anymore, either? To put all eggs in one basket is not good strategy in any endeavor. Perhaps Tommy is lining up a Plan B from overseas.

Jordan had an in home visit from Gonzaga a few months ago.
And FYI I never said Casey Benson was a priority. Just the fact that He had some interest in us and that Gonzaga did give him an offer at some point.

Josh Perkins and Reid Travis are a must.

Perkins or McLaughlin would also be putting most eggs in one basket...there has to be back up plans. Either will bet tough to get of course.
