Here are the NCAA's latest figures for the 2011-2012 Academic Progress Rates (http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/NCAA/Academics/Division+I/Academic+Progress+Rate).

What the heck is up with Portland?

Gonzaga is among the 950 teams honored for being in the top 10%


Key highlights

The most recent four-year Division I APR is 974, up one point over last year.

Across all sports, student-athletes have improved or maintained the rates of classroom success.

Sport improvements in APR over the past five years:

Menís basketball: +12
Womenís track: +11
Menís track: +9
Womenís basketball: +7
Football: +6

In the past nine years, more than 11,500 student-athletes have returned to campus, earned degrees and in the process earned an additional APR point for their former teams.

Men's basketball had a single season APR for 2011-12 of a perfect 1000. In fact all of Gonzaga's sports, men's and women's, had perfect single season APR's of 1000 in the latest reporting period, except women's rowing which came in at 984.
