3-point shot: New conference takes shape

2. Memphis is putting together another stellar nonconference schedule with a home-and-home series with Oklahoma State, starting in Stillwater, a home-and-home series with Gonzaga, starting in Memphis, playing Florida in the Jimmy V Classic in New York City as well as being in the Old Spice Classic. Memphis is in the event with Oklahoma State, which means the Cowboys and Tigers will likely be on opposite brackets to avoid playing twice. If they do then it would likely not be until either the championship or in a loser's bracket.

Happy as long as Pastner, not Calipari, is the Memphis coach. I feel like GU never won against Cal's Memphis teams.

Memphis and Gonzaga has been a great rivalry, with both teams and fan bases showing lots of respect for the opposing team and fans!

Can't wait!

I believe that was a Calapari edict agreed when GU was the perceived lessor of the 2 programs and no "big" schools outside UW and WSU played on campus. Things have changed ie Stanford, Virginia, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Illinois, Michigan State, Arizona etc all agreeing to play the Zags in K2.

I doubt that the Memohis game will be in the Arena. But we'll have to see.

The Arena is good for the circus. The seats in the horseshoe end shouldn't cost more than $10.

I guess it's good enough for the circus AND the NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball tournament. But I guess it's not good enough for you.

Glad to see this series start back...this means our 2013 schedule looks like:

OOC - Gonzaga, @Oklahoma State, Florida (neutral), Old Spice Classic

AAC - Louisville, Cincy, UConn, Temple, etc.

that's a pretty tough schedule.
