Okay, who wins it?

I'm still going with my original pick of Louisville, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the Wolverines win tonight. They have the guards to withstand Pitino's relentless pressure (example: Michigan's destruction of VCU's press), and the Louisville pressure just isn't as stout without the presence of Kevin Ware. The Cardinal don't have much guard depth, so Siva and Russ Smith cannot afford to get into foul trouble.

However, if the Wolverines win the title, it will establish or tie some statistical precedents:

http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2013-04-07/louisville-vs-michigan-final-four-2013-defense-offense-trey-burke-russ-smith

Since statistician Ken Pomeroy began publishing efficiency numbers in 2003, no team has won the NCAA championship with a defensive rank lower than 19th. UM enters the Louisville game at 32nd. No champion in the past 15 years allowed opponents to convert more than 42.3 percent of its field goals. Only the 2009 North Carolina team did as poorly. Of the 15 champs in that stretch, 10 held the opposition below the 40-percent mark.

On the other hand, if Louisville wins tonight, then they have a chance to set a record (as I understand it) as the only school to have both men and women teams win the championship in the same year.

Didn't UConn do the Men's & Women's titles a few years back?

Depends on the pace of the game. Coaching matters majorly in this final.
Fast pace= Louisville
Moderate or a grinder pace= Michigan.

Apparently UCM did it in 1984 and then UCONN in 2004, so I stand corrected. Either way, rooting for them both.

Pulling for Michigan all the way. It's hard not to admire a Beilein team that is hitting on all cylinders.

I believe the key to the game is whether UM can "stop" UL's Smith! If he has his way as he has had the previous five games, then it will be difficult for UM to win.

I also believe that control of the glass is another concern as well as UM making their open shots. They make these shots or a decent percentage then UL's (Smith) breaks will be limited. Also, limit live ball turnovers...

GO BLUE!

Yep, and the UConn students rioted in celebration. 41 arrests total, 23 of them students. The UConn students also rioted when the men won the 2011 title.

UConn did it in 2004.
In 1999 both Duke men and women went to the title game but lost to UConn and Purdue, respectively.

Depending on how the game is called will determine the outcome. Louisville mugs (I mean fouls) the opposition twice as much as Michigan on average. If Michigan can hold their TO's to 12 or under and shoot >45% from the field, I like their chances.

I'm just looking forward to tonight's game being behind us. Too much hype, too many talking heads saying the same things, over and over. It's become boring to me.

Is anybody Kevin Ware'd out? Oh, and Hancock's dying father or grandfather made it to the game. I'm losing track of all the "Win it for [insert sympathatic name]" inspirationals.

I definitely don't like either team, but I don't really dislike either team either, which really sucks because that means I don't really give a damn.

I suppose I dislike Michigan (and the Big 10) MORE than I dislike Louisville. And I strangely kind of like Pitino.

So I guess I'm sort of pulling for Louisville.

Lynette, that is AWESOME news for you!

Cheering for MI...if they win I win my office pool. Otherwise, I wouldn't care too much.

Still sick about our loss to be honest.

Two halves. Michigan made me a fan in the first half but Ohio is showing why they are in the title game in this second half.

Does Hancock remind anyone of what Spangler could have been here after getting in shape and getting an outside shot dialed in or is it just me?

So I am on the road and I land with about a minute and a half left in the game. I turn my iPhone march madness app on and watch till the end.

And it immediately cuts out. No coverage of the trophy award. No On Shining Moment.

Is it that tough people? We've come so far. Is it that hard to make the mobile broadcast sync with what's on CBS?
