He'll become a free agent in 12 to 18 months, with time off for good behavior.

For those of you with HBO, I recommend watching what I believe to be the most recent episode of real sports. A great piece on the disgusting practice of dog-fighting.

If you thought the dogfighting was sickening, how about this:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Two of Michael Vick's alleged cohorts in a grisly dogfighting case pleaded guilty Friday, and one said the Atlanta Falcons quarterback joined them in drowning and hanging dogs that underperformed.

There are 53 dogs in federal custody and another dozen or more with local authorities. Likely fate: euthanized. PETA and Humane Society aren't protesting -- the dogs have no doubt been trained to worst killer instincts and would pose a danger.

No NFL franchise should touch the kind of baggage that Vick brings, even if he isn't given a lifetime ban. Almost ridiculous that the ban would come from the gambling aspects of his activities, and not the essentially evil stuff like the torture-killing of poor miserable maltreated beasts.

Count me wrong on the prediction.

As for a new prediction, it's that Vick won't get a better now than he could have struck on Friday.

Apparently, there is a deal.

Looks like a minimum of 18 mos. in federal prison.

I just wonder how Marcus managed to stay out of this.

I just wonder how Marcus managed to stay out of this.
Remember when we all thought Marcus was the "bad" brother...

...now he's the "sane" one...

who contributes on Fox Sports Radio's Chris Myers' show, said that the judge presiding in this case has a history of handing out sentencing that is actually longer than the suggested amount per the prosecution. That said, if the suggestion comes in at 18 months, look for 30 (and etc)

This guy will never play another down in the NFL again. He'll be in jail 2.5 years and probably get a 2 year NFL suspension. By that time, he'll be too many days away from the field, and reaching the age where his upside doesn't warrant taking the PR nightmare that would ensue. I look for him to play several years in Canada, then in about 10 years to show up on one of those Fox reality shows.
