Hope Gary is all right. Speedy recovery and in the gym prepping for next year. Our Guards will be good no matter what our front line will be. GBJr is key to that. Get well.

Bell would have been guarding the perimeter. We needed him bad in that second half.

yes we did.

must be worse than a rolled ankle, typically you can play through them and it hurts worse the following day.

maybe worse than let on or realize?

More I reflect, his injury really hurt us down the stretch.

We needed him this game, especially vs their perimeter, and he got injured.

we avoided injury all season, until the final game.

ugh.

Coach Few just said in the post conference, it was NOT an ankle injury, rather an undetermined foot injury.

Initially, they expected/thought for him to return to action, yet following further examination and intense pain, they decided to hold him out.

Coach said he is our "best perimeter defender" and losing him hurt more than anything down the stretch.

Can't argue with that.

Still can't figure out why we didn't stick with Dranginis.

When Kyle was in the game along with Pangos, Hart, Olynyk, Harris we pulled out to a 7pt lead.

The moment we took him out, our lead vanished and so did our offensive pressure, perimeter movement, etc.

Since we were having so much difficultly defending the 3pt line, why not insert Edi, if all else fails?

Odd.

Kyle was a non-scorer and we needed points.

You think GBJ defending those shooters might have made a difference? Ya.

Alas.

could not have said it any better. That was by the far the best unit on the floor all night. Does anyone know if college basketball keeps any +/- stats anywhere like the NBA does? It's a pretty safe assumption Danginis' is going to look dramatically better than Stocktons'.

Both our games our entire team seemed subdued and conservative. Few needs to figure out how to get our guys mentally prepared for the tournament.

Mental mistakes and a sloppy first half let Wichita stay close enough to get hot from 3 when they needed it.

Good chance Dranginis becomes our go-to player next year...if he stays.

Log-jam at the 3 spot b/w him and Gerard, but at least Wich St RESPECTED his handles on the court.

Kyle, by far, is our best penetrator, nifty handles, dribble-driver, and play-maker after Kelly leaves.

I could see Dranginis transferring as much as I could see him staying and becoming a force.

he's not a fiery, inspirational, motivating type...

it is what it is. also, never been past the Sweet 16. recruits talk about this more than they talk about being Ranked #1, 1 seed, etc.

I covered this in the post game radio thread. Bell came in at the half and said his foot was bothering him. Jen, the trainer, took a look and he tried to make a go of it running behind the bench or in the tunnels, somewhere and he just couldn't do it. It will be looked at when the team returns to Spokane, maybe Monday?
