- One we know from when Robert Sacre was playing is that his dad, Greg LaFleur, was the Athletic Director at Southern from 2006 to 2011.

- Gary Bell's dad grew up in Baton Rouge and attended Southern.

ďI knew who they were when their name popped up on the (television) screen,Ē Bell said. ďI donít think my dad played there. He ended up leaving school to go into the Navy. All of my dadís side of the family is down there, grandma, grandpa, Dadís sister. Iím getting a lot of text messages.Ē

- Southern's Aaron Alston played last season at Lower Columbia College of the NWAACC. He plays sparingly as a Sophomore.
