If Gonzaga had received the 2 seed in the West what do you think the storyline for 3/4ths of the pundits would be? So far we're the lightning rod and getting dissed as a result.
The bottom line is the boys just have to go into this with a huge chip on their shoulder.

You know, I mentioned the same thing about the chip to some of my friends. They pointed out, and i have to agree, that

a) if we need a chip on our shoulders we're already in trouble and
b) nothing really seems to phase these guys

It's all about matchups. It's all about luck. Everyone starts even. Whoever can stay standing will meet and settle this steaming pile of BULLSHEET known as who can we KEEP in the top two seeds (no matter what) and what about Gonzaga ??

So we're a top seet (scratch off bucket list). Now it's time to meet, greet and beat the next (what is it ?) six games in a row.

I can't wait. If this isn't incentive enough to GO for it, nothing is.

I agree with the premise, but it helps me to always remember that people on television make money for their networks and for themselves by drawing viewers. Ladies of the evening make money by attracting "johns" and television networks make money by attracting "viewers" - it is pretty much the same process. Get yourself noticed and make some money. Chumps predicting this or that may or may not be honest, but they are no doubt trying to draw viewers.

But Gonzaga as a #1 seed in my lifetime.

I think they have the focus. They cheered the #1 for a fairly short time. Got game faces on quickly & waited for name of opponent.
