I think we all wish him well in what should be a great spot for him. I'm sure there will be game in a year or two we wish he would have headed for Utah or California.

What a great get for Pepperdine.

        Here's to the WCC.
There's no such thing as "garbage time" - there's only the time to crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

That is what is best about being a Zag.

I have to say, not only am I glad for Pepp and the WCC, but I'm honestly curious to see this kid play after all the attention he got on this board. I'm happy I'll be seeing him twice a year at least. I think Pepp got a steal.

Am I correct in assuming that Gibbs and Tinsley were competing for the same 2008 combo guard spot? Or is Gibbs more of a two while Tinsley is a one?

I'm guessing that your assessment is correct Rub.

I was hoping that Tinsley might find a way to become a Zag. Good luck to him down at Pepp.

I'm really hoping this makes for a couple of very entertaining bball games each year, ie Pariseau but with more talent.

Gibbs is a PG who can play SG. Tinsley is more of a SG but can play PG. And we have Steven Gray who is basically the same player as Tinsley.

What WCC fans should realize, too, is that Paul McCoy, another real nice PG from Oregon, just reiterated his commitment to Pepp, so put McCoy and Tinsley together and Pepp is nothing but trouble for any team in the future.

Question I have: Will Tinsley be Derrick Low II? A kid we passed on, only to realize a few years later that it was a mistake to do so?

                          Hope not.

Hopefully Tinsley will have a great career, but GU's pick(s) will have even better.

Great question, Bob! As we all know, recruiting is an art, not a science. The answer will be known to all over the next five years. I trust our coaches' instincts; they don't bat 1.000, but they do pretty darn well.

An example is Raivio/Pariseau. I think Derek proved beyond a doubt in the WCC Championship game that he was the right choice. Hopefully, Gibbs will prove on the court that he was the right choice, also.

                              How sweet

would four years in Malibu be, if you didn't have to pay a cent to do it?
