    2013 GU Bracket Watch

OK, with the end of the regular season approaching, it's that time of the year again. The Zags are approaching unprecedented levels of notoriety in terms of seeding and placement in the tourney, although there's still quite a bit of basketball to be played. Once again, here's a look at some of the finer details as March Madness approaches. Feel free to discuss (and make corrections).

Great info. I hope we get more supporters after we dismantle BYU on Thursday.

Where is everyone who said it was literally impossible for Gonzaga to get a one seed no matter what? Miami goes down so anything is possible.

Still think its unlikely because the big conf tourneys come later and the blue bloods have a better chance to make some impact. I guess I approach as the zags have to not lose their #1 seed (win out, tough), but some other teams can certainly come in and take it.

Average seed on the bracket matrix today is already at 1.88 (was 2.00 yesterday). This is prior to Miami's loss. Monday should be interesting.

Its getting a little difficult to keep teams ahead of the Zags - especially when a team like Miami losses to a team with a worse RPI than USF.

If anyone was wondering, the ranking system that currently has us as a 4 seed (even behind Wisconsin, if you can believe that), is ranked dead last out of the 65 rankings systems by the Bracket Project. Something tells me they need to modify their algorithm.

Oh, and we now have 27 1-seed votes (+10 gain) today. Again, prior to Miami going down in flames.

                        Most brackets will update tomorrow.

Mean projection for the Zags today was 1.82, with 29 1-seed votes (out of 88). That's a gain of 12 1-seed votes in two days. There are no longer any 4-seed votes (or lower) for the Zags, which is a first this season.

Michigan State was one position above the Zags, and Miami was 4 above on the averaged S-curve. Both lost, so there could be some movement in the next update.

Each power conferences school has a super evil math genius that creates their own algorithm, so I think that ranking system is Dukes algorythm. Seth Davis uses that one I think.

Somehow, in the most recent update, Gonzaga jumped 10 spots in SEED's ranking, making them a high 2 seed now. I'm almost thinking they use a dart throwing algorithm.

Same process Uber uses to fill out his bracket -- except he fills in GU for six wins and then uses darts for the rest.
