We're going to have a 30 win season before march madness!

What's the highest the zags have won?

Elite 8 so far. I'd take a national championship from a 16 win team rather than have an undefeated first round exit.

Under Few, we've had two 29 win ( with 4 losses both years ) seasons, 2001-02 & 05-06.

Well, of course. Nobody is suggesting otherwise. But your dodging the question...

It appears that 30 wins would set a GU record; the '06 team won 29 games. '04 won 28.

29 wins is the record right now.

This team will have 31 heading into the tournament. Pretty crazy, will have a chance at 37.

actually (according to espn at least) 2001-02 we were 28-3

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/2250/year/2002/gonzaga-bulldogs

and same record 2003-04 28-3

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/2250/year/2004/gonzaga-bulldogs

you were right about 05-06 it was our season with the most wins in the few era at 29

To set the record straight and to avoid any confusion here are the top seasons, in terms of # of wins, under Monson and Few:

29 wins:
2001-02: 29-4 (13-1 WCC)
2005-06: 29-4 (14-0)

28 wins:
1998-99: 28-7 (12-2)
2003-04: 28-3 (14-0)
2008-09: 28-6 (14-0)

Is the discrepancy there due to Non-DI games? I see the 01-02 team beat an Eastern Oregon squad that year. Perhaps some sources are counting that as the 29th win, while others are not?

don't count your chickens until they hatch. the zags haven't won those games yet. If we lose our first game in the WCC tourney, wouldn't that only have the zags at 29 wins at best before the ncaa tourney?

I'm confident they will head in at 31-2. If they don't, then they don't. But I'd sure like to see it. :D

2 things still bug me.

1. Why is every inbounds play a mystery? Near the end of the game, after two time outs, they threw the ball to Harris who immediately stepped out of bounds!

2. Why isn't Kevin bringing up the ball every time near the end of the game? He has one of the best handles in all NCAA and Harris/Olynyk bring it up? How do you spell turnover? Give Kev the ball and let him shoot free throws!!!!!

Go Zags!

Unlike ESPN, sports-reference shows that the Zags lost a game to Marquette and won a game against Fresno State on 01-02. Final record: 29-4

Wow..it shows Gonzaga playing three conference tournament games in that season. Hard for me to actually remember that happening.
