anyone else tuning into this #8 Gophers AT #5 Hoosiers game?

Minnesota wasn't ranked in any pre-season polls to start the season, yet knew they were gonna be good and stated they'd be Top-20 by seasons end, had no idea Top-10 good.

Really tough venue to win a game at as they rarely, if ever, lose at home...

MN vs IU.

10-6 Indiana.

High level bball right now. Entertaining.

Big-10 teams just crash the boards better than anyone -- love the way they rebound.

Illinois worst rebounding team in Conference and they still were pretty good vs us.

14-12 Indiana. Both teams 15-1. Minnesota only loss to Duke. Indiana only loss to Butler.

They, Gus Johnson, just said Minnesota rebounds 50%! of their missed shots.

Gophers a fun team to watch in person too...

Rotnei Clarke stretchered off the court after Flagrant One foul, but gives thumbs up to crowd. Tough kid, that one.

Hope he's OK. Would much prefer to face them at full strength, especially with Rotnei, who was very nearly a Zag at one...err...two points.

The good news is, after numerous replays, it doesn't look that bad or like he'll miss any time.

Just took a hard fall.

Tough is right.

Must admit, I've watched Pangos and GBJ take just as hard of falls this season.

Having a feeling he'll be just fine by next Saturday. Looked more like the wind was knocked out of him, more than anything.

I really really want Butler to beat Dayton. Keep them in the Top-15!

Watching the Dayton/Butler game, and Clarke just took a bad elbow to the back of his head and then hit his head on the padding behind the basket. Flagrant 1. It looked really bad. Clarke was taken off the court on a stretcher, but he could be heard telling the trainers he wasn't going to come out of the game. I'm hoping the stretcher was just precautionary. Tough kid. Hope he is ok. No update on him yet. I want to play them at full strength next week.

On a separate note, Khyle Marshall is a hell of a player. He is really stepping up with Clarke out.

I hope he'll be OK and I am confident he will. He appeared too lucid, alert, and aware for any signs of a concussion or serious head/neck injury. I didn't think it looked as bad on second review, an int'l foul, no doubt, but I've seen guys all morning long land on their backs, heads, slam into back of basket. Rotnei took an unfortunate hit and hard fall.

I have a feeling he's going to be just fine.

He'll be suiting up next Saturday. Book it.

Kelly didn't play for Duke. Injured. Curry goes down with a left knee injury with about 3 and half left in game and Duke making a comeback.

Minnesota game reminded me of our game with St. Mary's. Minnesota down by 20 and almost came back. It had nothing to do with lack of effort by Indiana. Two great games this morning.

Does anyone know if that BYU channel can be seen on Direct TV. I'd like to watch their game vs Santa Clare.

They just announced the audio was on while attending to Rotnei...he said he was "fine", a little shaken up, and was ready to "return to the game".

They elected not to move him as a precaution . He's moving his head and neck just fine and the trainers suggested it was most likely just a "stinger".

X-rays and possible head CT to follow.

Again, I think he'll be just fine as his symptoms and alertness did not indicate serious, even minor injury to the head or neck. It never lost consciousness, knew exactly what occurred, was aware of the situation at hand, and was moving his eyes and neck with little to no issue.

His 45% 3pt shooting stroke will be on display next Saturday. Then, he'll probably give our guys a neck strain watching him launch 3's all night long...

Some teams get better and some don't. SOme come out blazing from the beginning and seem like worldbeaters cheered on by the media ( I hope we aren't one of those teams) and then stay pretty much even with other teams till the second half. Meanwhile other teams get a lot better. Those sencond half "improvers" begin winning like crazy and beat the higher end teams. Happens every year.
Are we improving Last couple games? It didn't look like it. I hope the trend reverses.
Meanwhile it's a strong day for CBB. I'm paying special attention to BYU-SCU.
Duke is still no 1 when at full strength IMO.

Illinois is getting thrashed by 29 (Wisconsin) as I type this. I never thought we should lose to Illinois. Paul went wild . Overall, I do think we have a better team.

K-State up 1 with 9 secs remaining....WVU ball....about to attempt the last second shot for the win.....

They MISS!

K-State wins, which I think is better for GU in the long run, since they are currently ranked in the Top-20 and better RPI...we need to maintain as many 'signature' wins as possible.

Just a prediction on my part, but I see Wiltjer transferring after this season. He's having a pretty good year, but Kentucky just isn't the right place for him to shine. He doesn't have the kind of game that is going to allow for an early jump to the NBA and he's continually going to be recruited over and relegated to a 6th, 7th, or 8th man role. Next years class could already be Calipari's best and they will most likely pick up another commitment from Andrew Wiggins, Julius Randle, or Aaron Gordon. At least that's the way I see it, but maybe it's just wishful thinking since I always did feel like he belonged in a Zag uniform. Anyways, sorry for the Wiltjer interlude, back to the games! BYU looks legit, Tyler Haws is fantastic!

BYU's gonna be a chore

...but in the big picture, I see the same result as last year....BYU just doesn't match up against Gonzaga or St Mary's...

IMHO BYU may be the last team in the NCAA or on it's way to the NIT

....yes...I am not a expert but I have been watching them (their BYUTV is first class) and Haws if the real deal but he can't beat you by himself

and IMHO Brandon plays for Brandon and will likely play limited minutes against Gonzaga because of dumb fouls

... Chuckit up ??? Who knows, that guy is a loose cannon .... they do have some role players that can get hot but....

they have had some really poor games this year and will have to win the WCC Conference or Tourney to Dance...I will be very surprised if they can do either one...

I don't see any bad losses on BYU's resume. All of the losses were on the road. The first two, to Florida St. and Notre Dame were against real good teams. Notre Dame has been a top 20 team. Then @ Iowa St. and @ Baylor are not bad losses. Have you seen Iowa St. play? They are good. And we know Baylor is good. I think the fact that BYU plays this kind of OOC schedule made them a better team. It now shows in our conference. BYU plays St. Mary's next week at home: expect BYU to win at home.

It's really nice to Billy's Boys playing well. They were a dangerous team last year and I'm sure more dangerous this year. BYU also gets to play San Diego next week @ home. So maybe BYU and GU will be alone at the top of the conference before our showdown with them the following week. It's going to be another fantastic conference this year, and full of excitement.

Except for the line about Davies playing selfish, I can't find much I disagree with here. BYU is getting tougher as the season progresses though, and I chalk much of that up to the improvement of Carlino. At this point I think BYU splits series with SMC and loses both to Gonzaga. I do think they'll be better games than I thought they'd be even just a couple weeks ago.
