Never tell players that NBA scouts are in the Audience

the players get it into their minds and the normal reactions during the game fail.

Last night, the NBA scouts had to think they were at a summer camp where the kids are learning to shoot from the outside. We couldn't hit the ocean during the first half of the game.

So, next time NBA scouts are in the audience, everyone needs to remain silent or deny their existence.

Who is to say any of the players knew? And who is to say that you could ever keep them from knowing?
If you can't handle the confusion, stay out of the Foo!

And who is to say that if they knew, it had any effect whatsoever?
You have to love the Gonzaga fan. Not satisfied to be affronted merely by common hosings at the hands of ragtag referees, he plows all avenues of discontent. - John Blanchette

All Zags keep an earpiece in while playing so they can listen to Heister's motivating play by play.

Expectations are a tricky thing. If no one expects you to do well sometimes you surprise everyone. If you are trying to impress people and fear mistakes it often leads to failure.

Tunnel vision and supreme focus often are spoken of "Being in the Zone" it is pure focus on basketball and the entire court action adn tuning out all other surroundings and issues.

No one was in the "zone" for very long last night, except maybe Stockton and Pepperdine.

Is this the Memphis message board?
What are you doing, Adam? Do you even know how many people go blind from pizza shrapnel?

                What Bart said.

                There were 7 scouts @Baylor/GU.
                But we don't play nobody.

If a tree falls in the woods and there is no scout to hear it, does it leave early for the NBA or stick around for a 4th year?

Our guys have known they are being watched by scouts for years now, and there should be little difference whether a scout sits in the stands or sits at home on their couch. They are on national television almost every week and, during the tournament and the weeks leading up to it, they have multi-millions of eyes watching them relentlessly.

A few scouts in the audience shouldn't make a difference. I don't think that is a legitimate excuse. It may be real for all I know, but I just don't see it being a factor in Malibu. More of a factor is that everyone and their grandmother figured we would win by 20+, myself included.

Back to reality, the WCC has their sights set on us. If you can't beat Gonzaga, you probably won't make the dance.
