becuase they both will sink like a lead balloon when WCC play starts. A great accomplishment in the OOC schedule.

Actually, no. SOS will undoubtedly fall, but RPI won't if we keep winning.

If I read this right we have a better than 50% of deserving a 2 seed or better, but only @ a 6% of a 1 seed...Interesting

It doesn't quite work out that way. The selection committee, once they've decided who's in or out of the tournament, will then rank the teams 1-68 using various factors such as record, SOS, tourney wins, and also RPI. That ranking becomes what is known as the "S-curve" since they're placed like a winding snake so top teams in a seed pair up with bottom teams in opponent seeds, like this:

1 seed: 1→2→3→4
2 seed: 8←7←6←5↩
3 seed: ↪9→10→11→12
4 seed: 16←15←14←13↩
... and so on.

This is so the top team in a seed gets paired with the weakest opponent in the opponent's seed. Then they have to make various adjustments according to the seeding/placement rules (like if teams played each other, or if they're in the same conference, or for regional placement needs). This usually results in some teams being placed one (or rarely two) lines above or below their initial seed.

So basically, RPI is only one of many deciding factors, and there are several (objective AND subjective) factors that play into seeding.

You can look here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_basketball_tournament_selection_process) if you want the nitty gritty about seeding/placement.
