I think this would be a good barometer game for the rebuilding Sooners.

The All-College Classic is usually played at the Ford Center (a venue that I don't really like very much), and if its on a weeknight I'm screwed. :( Going to try to go this year though.

Wow, I'm really looking forward to this game! Love the snapshot Zag dossiers in all of the linked articles:

Gonzaga, which has participated in nine straight NCAA Tournaments, finished 23-11 last year and won the West Coast Conference with an 11-3 league record. The Bulldogs return three starters, including All-West Coast Conference selection Jeremy Pargo.

Ah, who cares what the rational types are saying? What matters is what they're saying on their forums! Most of the posts on the OUInsider.com (http://ouinsider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=6)forum are happy about the matchup, but, of course, the one that's going to tickle me is ..."I hope we beat Gonzaga by 40. Can't stand 'em." (http://ouinsider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6615)

I checked the OU Scout board and was pleased to see the exodus from Scout by Oklahoma fans appears to have left them dead, dead, dead ..

I lurk on the new OUInsider.com and the old scout.com board, but have not posted on any OU board in a couple of years because my opinions about the NBA in Oklahoma City aren't that popular around here and I got sick of getting harassing private messages about my opinions of the matter (hey, I warned everybody not to get TOO attached to the Hornets and take as gospel anything that Berry Tramel spewed in his columns in the joke of a newspaper we are stuck with in OK; I don't dislike the Sonics, but I don't want them in OKC because OKC will continue to be badmouthed by everybody else as carpetbaggers and thieves and I'm sick of the negativity. I have a hard enough time with the Bible-thumping Republicans that innundate OK without that crap. And the whole Sonics to OKC or whatever thing is a topic for another time or I'll just agitate myself into a near heart attack and I reallly don't want that!)

And yes, the OU scout board is ... um ... lacking. If I understood it correctly, OU was one of the big school sites that was part of the lawsuit against scout.com.

The other good thing about this game is that one of the ESPN announcers will likely be Fran Fraschilla, who is my favorite color analyst with ESPN.
