Let's hear your beverage plan.

On this end tonight it's big ales by the fireside with Cozy Sweater and the 2012 Abyss.

If our guests quickly start carving us into Swiss cheese with a barrage of made threes, I will promptly retire the beer and move straight to Chopin+rocks+twist, repeating as necessary.

I'm drinking some Fosters that I have in the 'fridge - but I do have some Macallan 18 single malt scotch if it gets dicey....might as well enjoy myself if we are tanking

I have to attend the office Christmas Party, which means watching the game afterwards via the DVR. . .

Tonight's game beverage of choice:

Full Sail Brewing's "Extra Special Barney"

Bought a half rack of Winter Hook last night...and refrained from opening it. Couldn't afford the good stuff, although I do have an un-opened bottle of Glenlivit 12 year old, so can drown my (?), if it comes to that!

The idea of mixing Maple flavor with spirits is revolting to me, but I'll try just about anything once. What's it taste like? Southern Comfort with a Maple taste?

The maple smooths out the edges a bit but it still tastes like bourbon or whiskey. . .I think it owes more to the kind of barrel staves they use than anything, BD.

Well, I have used a whiskey maple syrup glaze on a ham and it is mighty tasty--don't know how it would be to drink it. :p

Haha I would have snagged that or the SN Celebration Ale but the prices for SN on the East Coast tend to make me shy away compared to the prices I used to pay in the SF Bay Area. I am throttling Red Hook Winter Hooks until the game starts.

Safeway had celebration for $8. I finished off a six pack of that earlier today.

and am beginning to feel the Christmas spirit. My life companion said, "is the sun over the yardarm?" Being that twilight has long since passed, we mutually agreed to start out the Holiday season with a Double Single Malt Scotch. It caused me to reflect where, I coming from good Irish stock began to develop a taste for Scotch. It was at Gonzaga, introduced to me by a good friend, who is currently teaching law to Gonzaga in Florence with whom I have shared both the thrill of victory and agony of defeat.

Anyway, I am sure he may be streaming on his computer in Firenze, tonight game, possibly along with other GU faithful. Anyway, tonight, I decided to drink some whiskey along with the rest of you who think GU is a top 5 team, maybe it will make me into a true believer too! In the meantime the Single Malt stuff is way better than what I was reared on.

Meanwhile I am hoping those Illini can't find the range when they let them fly, because let them fly they will.

Silly and getting schnockered Sili!

Yeah luckily I get bailed out with similar pricing on Lagunitas and Stone. Still, a better selction of the top shelf SN offerings would be awesome. At a Maryland/Wake Forest tailgate, saw a Hoptimum flying around and I made sure to get the source identified.

You need to venture out to the suburbs to the total wine and more.

What was the source of the hoptimum?

I am in the burbs (Alexandria). I never shuttled over to Total Wine. Is it like a BevMo sans liquor?

It was from a North Carolina Harris Teeter of all places. I informed the consumer not cool to go flashing that around when you don't bring enough for everybody lol.

I don't know what a bevmo is. It's basically the size of a grocery store and only has beer and wine. They have tastings there quite often too. I think there is one near Alexandria.
