Has there ever been a home game where the Zags and their opponents were both top 15 in the nation? Anticipation is building, the next 24 hours are going to go so slow...

Depends on how you define the game. In terms of 2 ranked teams, maybe. In terms of fan intensity, it would be hard to top the last time we beat UW at home. The decibel level for that game was incredible.

You have to add the ingredients of rivalry and dislike to make the fans go insane. I don't know that anybody here really "hates" the Illini.

Yeah, a win would be great tomorrow, but ultimately, win or lose, I don't hope that the Illini program drives a beaten, broken down V.W. van over the mountains back home. . . never to come back, just sayin'.

On 12/5/2007 (http://statsheet.com/mcb/games/2007/12/05/washington-state-51-gonzaga-47) #17 Zags lost to #8 WSU in the Kennel by 3.

On 12/9/2006 (http://statsheet.com/mcb/games/2006/12/09/washington-77-gonzaga-97) #18 Zags spanked #13 UW by 20.

That's as close as it gets for games when both the Zags and an opponent were ranked in top 20, at McCarthey. Few teams will come and play us at home.
