I think the radio or TV last night said something about a 10-0 start in the late 1940's. Anybody able to confirm that?

Believe it is 11-0 start but not as a division 1 program back then

You were in your prime then, don't you remember?

It was in '43-'44 during World War II when the basketball team consisted mostly of Navy personnel from Farragut who were participating in the V-12 training/education program at GU. The team went 22-4, coached by a guy named Charles Henry (his only year as coach). The team was nationally ranked during the season. There used to be pictures and articles about the team on the wall at Mae's, as I'm sure Birddog will attest.

The media has not been qualifying it with longest Division I start. All I have heard is 9-0 is Gonzaga's best start in our history. To me that implies our basketball team at all times.
