11 = Phil Simms ? How about Staubach or Aikman ?

# 14 - (Almost As bad as the choices for # 25 ) Pete Rose or Good Guy Dan Fouts

#17 - Havlicek

#40 - Gale Sayers

Interesting choice on #32; I guess I'm dating myself but when I think of that number, I think of Jim Brown first, then Magic, then Shaq. . .

Anyway, it's a fun thread, Akzag. . .

fwiw, if a number is giving you trouble, wikipedia is your friend. for example:

#1 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1_%28number%29#In_sports (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1_%28number%29#In_sports)

Thanks for the links ... Reno also had one for me (gracie ...), and I do intend to use it ... just not yet ... going to try to stretch on memory alone first and then use that to go back to ... it was actually Page 2 on espn.com that got me thinking of it ...

But I have some twists coming up ...

RenoZag
08-02-2007, 12:16 PM
# 37 : Lester Hayes # 25 - Fred Biletnikoff

( Can't let LIZF get away with all those Steelers !) :)

Akzag
08-02-2007, 12:16 PM
FWIW ... Aikman was a #8 ... now Danny White, that was another #11 on the Cowboys.

Akzag
08-02-2007, 12:18 PM
56 = Lawrence Taylor would be an obvious choice .... BUT ... here's the twist, if I only stuck to jersey numbers, the thread would die at 99 ...

So,

56 = games in Joe DiMaggio's hitting streak

Akzag
08-02-2007, 12:20 PM
