Gonzaga 77
Pacific 63

This should be a very good game. Tough.

I sure hope to see the hot shooting from the outside continue.
Will Dranginis start tomorrow night? I hope to see him play in the same vein as he did last night.
Looking forward to seeing Bell and Harris again.

Will the fire that the Zags built last night still be buning tomorrow night?
I'm excited to see Pacific play. They're joining the WCC next year, and they recently beat St. Mary's.

Don't think we have one player they can double (ala Delly), thereby taking us out of our game plan. We have 3-4 guards that can bring the ball up, 4 bigs, each with a different modus operandi, and 2-3 wings with different styles and talents...plus we play defense.

Could be closer than some think but Zags win by a minimum 14+ as Tigers go cold in the second half.

I think the Tigers will S-L-O-W the game down. Limit our possessions. Make us defend the entire shot clock. They have some underrated BIGS that will defend the post better than we think. They might even play hack-a-Shrek, given our FT%.

They are a veteran, savvy team that will be trying to make a statement to those who didn't think they were "worthy" of the WCC.

That said... I think the Zags are still too big & too deep.

I'm going with my friend Ken Pomeroy, who calculates the score at GU 77 Pacific 55, with the probability of a W for the zags being 97%.

If they can handle Delly and Holt I believe they are a better team than they pencil out to be on paper. clearly we have a huge size advantage but I would be nervous about this game if it was on the road. Especially if E and GBJ are a little sore.

closer than we want it to be: Zags 77, Tigers 69.

Might be our toughest test yet. However, I really think that the guys will be juiced for this game given the fact that they beat SMC - it is the perfect opportunity to put a shot off SMC's bow if they can handle them.

I see a tough first half - but our depth and outside shooting wears them down and win going away.

A big game for Elias Harris and Kevin Pangos as both return to home form, Pangos is GUnit with 22 pts and 8 Assists

My son, a statistics nut, pointed this out to me - Pacific lost at home by 2 pts to Oral Roberts, Oral Robert lost at home to Oklahoma by 1 point. GU beat Oklahoma by 25. So does that make GU a 28 point favorite over Pacific? We'll see. Me thinks it will be a little tighter than that - Zags 78-62.

We're playing at home; therefore, we've a big advantage over Saint Mary's in their recent tussle with Pacific at a neutral site. Kiddwell will be surprised if Pacific wins at Moraga.

Current superstition is zags must score 1 point per minute... Top number varies but must be over 100

Yup. I think our guys will send a message to Pacific about the WCC and a message to St. Mary's that their stay at the top of the WCC will be very short.

I think that something that is being overlooked a lot is our height advantage. Pacific really doesnt have any bigs, their only player above 6-8 plays 8 MPG...we will dominate them in the paint just like LC State

SMC is not very good this year except for Delly. Pacific beating them doesn't give me pause. In the Kennel we will handle business fairly easily.

Frankly, we should beat them. A win over SMC this year isn't going very far because Pacific wasn't SMC's bi-sometimes-tri-annual superbowl.

St. Mary's is not even ranked in the Top 100 of the RPI at this stage in the season. Pacific has losses to Oral Roberts and Fresno State - two teams that are also ranked outside of the RPI Top 100.

I stand by my assertion that Gonzaga is going to show Pacific who owns the WCC.

This is a statement game for GU to make sure Pacific knows its place in the pecking order next year.

Of course Pacific is looking to make those of us somewhat critical of its WCC invitation to choke on our words so they are going to be more than motivated.

GU wins by 12 but only because it pulls away late in a tighter game then anticipated.

But sometimes our opponents don't choose to go along with that. KO said last week the coaches were going "to toy" with the lineup. We saw that with the LCS game.

Depending on how this one plays out, we may see some more toying. We'll see. It's fun to watch the mixing and matching. Part of the result we saw was the breakout by KD. So who knows who might steal the spotlight today.

But first, we secure the game and increase the lead. then we can toy with the possibilities.

Looking forward to seeing GBJ and E tonight. The run of OOC "testers" restarts today, and ends with Ok State who lost today (w/ Butler as the outlier). I predict it's close through about the first 10-12 mins then the wheels come off for Pacific and we roll in the 2nd half. The Cougs @ WSU and Illini make for a big week coming up.
