Yeah yeah yeah, I know I know, we're 6 games in, but I'm just messing around with some numbers for fun. BIG DEAL!!
But here are a few things I have calculated. DISCLAIMER (please note, I got a D in Algebra II my senior year of high school, and then got a D in college Algebra my first year of college, so I'm not going to act like I'm some math whiz. Some of these calculations could be wrong. They ARE rather complex)
So far, based on a 35 game season (alowing for 2 games in Vegas, and 2 games in the tourney <----I'm just playing it safe, so I don't over-inflate these numbers), we have a couple guys that have a shot at getting their names in the Top 10 of a couple categories in our record books.
Harris---At his current pace, he is on track to end the season with 549 points, 322 rebounds, 24 blocks, and 63 steals. Adding these numbers to his previous 3 seasons, that would leave him with:
1911 career points- THIRD all-time in points scored (just above Ammo)
1048 rebounds- SECOND all-time in career rebounds (1st is 1670, Jerry Vermillion from back in the 50's. Wow. That's ridiculous). But this total of 1048 would be over 100 more rebounds than Violette, and nearly 200 more than Turiaf pulled in. Also, his pace of 322 rebounds for this season would also put him TENTH all-time for rebounds in a single season.
77 total career blocked shots- That would be good enough for TENTH all-time in career blocked shots.
146 career steals- That would be SIXTH all-time, right behind Blake Stepp. I realize his steal numbers might be a bit inflated this season (on pace for 63, which is more than twice what he had all of last season), but still, he only needs a total of 32 this season to land himself on the Top 10 list for career steals.
Looking at all of that, it's EASY to see that Harris can and will go down as one of the best all-around zags to play here. Just awesome.
Pangos---At his current pace, he is on track to end the season with 427 points and 135 assists.
At that pace, Pangos could easily land himself in the Top 3 scoring in a career, if he stayed here for all 4 years.
He is also on pace for 45 steals on the season. Add that to last years total of 40, and he has 85 career steals after 2 years. Keep that pace for his final 2 seaons, and he would be second all time in career steals.
Also at that pace, he would land himself in the Top 5 all-time in career assists. I expect Pangos numbers to continue to increase during the course of his career though, so who knows where Pangos could end up. The sky is the limit for him, IMO.
Lastly, one other random stat, Stocks is averaging 3 steals per game. If he could keep up anywhere near that pace, he would easily be in the Top 10 for steals in a season. (current pace would put him SECOND all time, right behind another player with the last name Stockton. haha). I don't expect him to maintain 3 per game though, but heck, lets say he averages 1.5 per game from this point on, he would finish with right at 62, good for 4th all-time in a single season.
Anyways, like I said, I got bored, haha.
