The nation seemed impressed. Top 15?

I'd set the over-under at 15.

I predict top 10 the week of 11/26 if we win the Old Spice - and I think we will.

It could be a special year. A really special year.

Depends on the folks ranked above us.

Depends on how well the teams above us in the standings perform this week.

Another factor is that WV was not ranked and played here in Spokane.

Saying that, we won by a large margin against a respected team and coach...so Im thinking 2 or 3 spots putting us at 16 or 17.

Now if we take care of business in Orlando and win out than I see us making a huge jump from that.

doesn't work that way this early in the season or until peeps lose...maybe AP poll, yet not much movement in Coaches...

I'd say 3-4 spots max.

If we were 21, then I'd say 18 is realistic, now if we win the OSC...that's another story...

We'd have to beat Clemson, Oklahoma, Davidson(Top-25), and West Va again...

Exactly!

If no one loses, then we don't move up...sorry!

I disagree. This early in the season teams can and do leapfrog teams who haven't lost - if they are impressive enough.

Once the early season results are in the book and the conferences get started it is a different story.

Someone take a picture of the underside of a Bulldog and send it to Gaels fans so they can get used to looking at it.

There's no way we drop after this week. I'd say 16 now, Sparty to 15 and we jump a few people who played pushovers.

I personally polled all the games in the ESPN marathon parade and didn't see a team that had the versatile talents of this year's GU squad. Duke had a single outside threat, the Zags have triple that. The art of 3 point shooting seems to be in decline judging from the games I saw. Inside game, again, we have 2 or 3 scoring threats to the single ones on the TV teams. Our tandem of guards easily eclipsed those on display, etc etc.

I'm guessing GU will be among the top ten scoring teams in the country again this season (easy guess). Nothing new there. That the team will also be in the top 20 in points allowed IS new. Average scoring differential impresses pollsters. Zags caused WVU to violate the shot clock 2 or 3 times...didn't see that in any of the other games.

What we're seeing is a legitimate top eight team. It will soon be reflected in the polls. The 2d best team I saw in the marathon, Michigan State, had only parts of the package. They'll have em all by tournament time. Zags have a head start. Disclaimer: I'm a glass half empty with a crack in it kind of guy.

If any team above us, within six spots, doesn't lose then moving up will not happen. HOWEVER, I expect GU to drop a spot to #20 as #21 MSU defeated #7 KU on a neutral court and IMO MSU will pass us and move up to 11, 10 or even 9.

We beat an unranked BCS team at home as did almost all those above us so realistically, moving up doesn't appear likely this week anyway...

At this stage, continue to get better, continue to win, integrate Kelly into the rotation and the rankings will take care of themselves.

At the very least the conversation nationally about the zags is how good are they. If they continue to improve as a team and integrate the new players, they will be high in the polls in March and that is what is important.

Preseason we were 22 and 21 on Coaches and AP polls respectively.
Now we are 19 on each.

I agree. In the past couple of years, each time the zags jump in the polls they drop a game or two.

And we havent seen how they will respond in neutral or road games yet.
