Read something in the AP preview of the game tonight and I thought it offered a little perspective. In 1996, which really isn't that long ago in terms of building powerhouse basketball programs, our Zags went on the road to Southern Utah and were blasted 71-47. So before we start panicking over another WCC title and our first Final 4 appearance, let's take a deep breath and appreciate how awesome it is for a piss-ant school of 5,000 kids in Spokane, WA to be relevant on the national level.

That being said, we're going to win the WCC this year AND go to the Final 4, and if we don't, I'll probably panic.

isn't the piss-ant enrollment up to over 6,000 now?

I'm with you. perspective is good.

Total enrollment (grad & law school included) is just under 8,000.

Perspective is a good thing, but by all means lets keep expectations high. Everything this program achieves honors the players and coaches that built it to this level, along with the university, community and fanbase that have nourished it.

Im not panicking about WCC Titles and Final Fours because of any sense of entitlement...I just really really really want it to happen. :bishop_smiley:

Precisely because of the perspective, GU achievements mean more and I like them even better than I like achievements of my other sports teams.
