[2008] Austin Dufault, PF, ECI West Gold This 6-foot-8 standout made his way to center court as his team lost to the Oklahoma Magic in the A bracket title game. However, the loss for ECI yielded a positive: Dufault is now firmly on the national radar. A face-up power forward, only a handful of schools were actually in the gym to see him and no doubt will have a leg up on the competition. In his final two games of the event, the competitive Dufault stroked 9 3-pointers.

Sounds like a player. 9 threes in two games for a guy that's 6'8" and also has a strong face up game, WOW. Offer him now! Where's he from?

North Dakota.

He's far under the radars of most big schools.

Bismarck TV Station Report (http://www.kxmb.com/t/high-school-sports/144317.asp)

Story about offer fron North Dakota State. There's a link to a TV report about Austin and another link to three photos. Nothing too revealing, but worth a look.

I'm pretty sure Giacoletti has/had some ties to ND, right? Hmmm...

Sounds like a great player, but would be be too much like Brock?

Interesting diversion from the guards that have been the center of attention recently.

Hard to ignore talent at any position.

I just wonder if the staff doesn't get Clarke or Goodson or Jackson, if they might go after Dulkys and this kid. Or, perhaps, even if they get a guard, if they're thinking about a taller kid who can shoot lights out and play inside.

You never know.

How many of Coach Few's appearances at these events have less to do with the particular PSA he's watching and more to do with keeping Gonzaga's name and presence "out there" and generating interest in the program? It just seems like whenever sites like Rivals and Scout want to hype how good a player is, they mention the big muckeymuckeys there to watch him, and it's always nice to see Mark Few's name mentioned in the same breath with Roy Williams, Coach K, Ben Howland, etc.

Another thing we might be seeing is the level of planning and backup planning going to recruiting this year. Few and assistance seem to be at every significant event and talking with PSAs. The new PSA that are showing up on Scout and Rival's lists may be another reflections of kids receiving interest as potential backups?
