We need a football thread. Really we need football(or I do), but this will have to do for now.

I'm sure everyone's heard about the new Marshawn Lynch incident.....but what I want to know, is why is Lynch driving around in a Ford Econoline Van????

What are you guys excited about for the upcoming season?

For me, I'm excited about 2 things. I can't wait to see how the defense has improved. I think the defense can be top 5 next year. I hope Bruce Irvin can prove all of the haters wrong and get double digit sacks next year. The other thing I'm excited about is to see if Flynn is as good as I hope he can be. I think if Flynn can be a top 10-15 quarterback then the Seahawks have a good chance at being a championship caliber team. It's nearly the exact same blueprint the forty whiners used to get to the NFC championship last year.

1) The QB battle will be interesting. I'll be disappointed if Flynn can't win the battle.

2) Our receivers/TE. On paper, our top 4 are pretty darn good...Rice, Baldwin, Z. Miller, and Winslow. Who will get them the rock and can they stay healthy.

3) Lynch - will the dumb ass get suspeneded?

4) Our schedule - very tough

I'm not a TO fan at all, but I like the move. It's low risk for the Seahawks. He's motivated, still in great shape, and if it doesn't work out they can cut him.

Carroll has put together a pretty good team, built on defense, and ball control offense. Very similar to style ran at USC. Really looking forward to the season.

They don't need amazing things out of TO... Just efficient work. More concerned about ML getting suspended... The running attack needs to be there. The receiving core outside of TO is pedestrian, but so long as they all just put in workman like games they'll do. I'm more convinced that you can get by without a superstar WR if you have guys that run the right routes and hold onto the ball. If Flynn lives up to the hype, he'll make the pedestrian corps look better than they may be on paper.

Braylon Edwards... Hope Pete knows how to turn his hands of stone into soft butter.

Being a casual Jets fan... Yeah. Lets put it this way it was more of picture one than picture two.

Edwards = awful signing; TO = great signing. Dude still has it!

I didn't watch the first half, but just checked out Russell's numbers:

11/16 144 yards 2 Touchdowns 0 Interceptions 136.5 QB Rating

Very impressive, Flynn is going to have a hard time competing for the starting spot.

Tavares to Buffalo

Wow, I guess I knew that it was coming, but it's still surprising.

So who will end up with the most expensive backup QB? Jets or Seahawks?

An update:

1) Awesome, Flynn lost to the wrong guy and I"m thrilled.

2) Still like our TE/WR...not the highest profile, but should be good.

3) Looks like Lynch will escape suspension, but Turbin will be there if not

4) Still tough

Kolb? He might get the start though.

I just love the way Coach Carrol's building this team.

I haven't been this excited since the Alexander days.

His first half was a thing of beauty. One bad throw, that's it. So poised, really makes it look easy.

He's without a doubt our best bet this year; Flynn could certainly do well and get some Ws, but Wilson's a difference maker. He keeps drives going with his skill and leadership, something very difficult to teach. He's got "it"

You and me both. I have a good feeling about this team. Really feel that playoffs a strong possibility.

Took Baldwin late in my fantasy draft. Broke my rule of not drafting Seahawks outside of defense... Which my son took a few picks before I was going to...last Seahawk I drafted was SA.
