View Full Version : I Will Not Have Another!

My horse retired today suddenly. Apparently a tendon or muscle defect. So there will be no "I'll Have Another" Triple Crown, but it was still a great ride.

And from the horse's perspective, if you were the equivalent of a 18 year old kid and told you were being taken out of the job market and retired to stud service, would it be that bad?

I think not.

Go Bulldogs!

I guess I'll be showing up to the year-end picnic for my son's baseball team on time after all. The Belmont TV ratings just dropped from about 50 million viewers to about 50 thousand.

we'll never know but I expected IHA to bounce big tomorrow, with Dullahan, Paynter and Union Rags to complete tri.

It would have been a good betting opportunity with a 4/5 or 3/5 shot not hitting the board IMO.

The preakness was a big effort for IHA and took alot out of him.

Spacing on triple crown races should be longer than the 3 in a 5 week period. Horses are said to need 7-10 days recovery time for the equivalent day for men, making the triple crown similar to a preseason college tourney with three games straight against a Paul Westhead LMU team.

"Spacing on triple crown races should be longer than the 3 in a 5 week period." I keep hearing this comment.

There are 3 weeks between the Preakness and the Belmont. That isn't enough time?

I can't get to the Sportsbook today, too many "to do" list items

Had I the chance: These were my choices:

5 - Dullahan
1 - Street Life
7 - Five Sixteen
9 - Paynter

Actual Order of Finish:
3- Union Rags
9- Paynter
4- Atigun
1 -Street Life

I was set to have Union Rags and I'll Have Another in an Exacta Box with Paynter and Dullahan in the 3rd position in a Trifecta Box.

Would have liked to seen how it would have turned out. My gut feel was Union Rags would have beat I'll Have Another, but that's why you run the race. Union Rags was the best horse in the Kentucky Derby but was bumped hard at the start dropping to the back of the pack and still rallying to finish 7th.......Skipped the Preakness to get ready for the Belmont.

So many things can happen in the "Fastest two minutes in sports"........
