That would certainly be great, but I ain't holdin' my breath in expectation.

Nothing like fish and/or golf to get a man out of bed early on a day off. Hope you landed a keeper !

He landed a keeper the day he got married. ;)

Re: Emporia State on Nov. 7th... I think we'll have our first exhibition game around Nov. 1st. So this will give the team plenty of time for two D1 games (in K2, I'd hope) before heading up to Anchorage around Thanksgiving Day, the 24th. That's two weeks for two games. Just right.

I'm still pulling for an exhibition with Eastern Oregon. They've got tons of Spokane ties and would help the local interest level (as if that is required). No, but it would be great to see some of those Spokane kids come back and take a shot at the Zags.

Lynette, best of luck to young Jordan playing well and having fun at the Main Event!

Below is what I'm showing so far for scheduled and yet unscheduled games:

Corrections or additions? Are we not scheduling EWU this year? I should know but have forgotten.

It is to my understanding that EWU is out.

Note that the WCC schedule is still tentative at this time.

I am surprised that GAS is starting on 11/20. I thought it always started more towards Thanksgiving to avoid TV conflicts with the Maui Invitational. This year's Maui takes place 11/19-11/21. I hope that this doesn't greatly effect the TV coverage for the Zag games in Alaska.

This is just speculation on my part......even with GAS starting on 11/20, I would expect GU will probably schedule two K2 games vs. teams like Idaho/Montana between, say, 11/11 and 11/16. I also think the St. Joe's game will be scheduled on 12/3 so that it can be on the same road trip with UConn.

Note that the WCC schedule is still tentative at this time.

Most of that schedule I put together is tentative, except possibly the Memphis, Connecticut, and Emporia State games, whose dates I picked up fromm press stories.

The Comcast website, last time I checked, still didn't show the BIS opponent as locked in.

The WCC games come off the GU Summer prospectus, linked elsewhere on this site, which makes it clear that the schedule is tentative. Also, while I tried to be careful transferring the data from the prospectus, I'm about half blind and shouldn't be trusted!

For sure, no one should make travel plans based on the schedule I put together, but it helps me to get an idea of the layout and how it might all fit together.

Last year I was so jones'n for a GU fix that I had to buy scalped tix for the exibition games b/c they weren't televised. sat 4 rows off the top. It was great.

Corrections or additions? Are we not scheduling EWU this year? I should know but have forgotten.

There was a "report" of a Dec. 20th game at K2 featuring the Zags vs. Cal State Northridge back in June and I see that they are still carrying that listing in a July estimated schedule, based on published reports from somewhere. The post at CSUN's board also mentions the possibility that the date might be swapped with Dec. 8th.

I am surprised that GAS is starting on 11/20. I thought it always started more towards Thanksgiving to avoid TV conflicts with the Maui Invitational.

Since ESPN has the contract to cover both of these tournaments, they will do it regardless of the dates. Maui is guaranteed to air on ESPN and the G.A.S. on ESPN2. They don't conflict.

Also, the women's tourney starts Nov 20 and the first men's game is Nov 21. Same as previous years.

The Georgia game is Jan 5 at Spokane Arena.

Don't we have a return game from Stanford this season?

Stanford was a home and home. The series is over.

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/3079/scheduleasofjuly21zc9.jpgThanks for putting that together, ZN. Tentative or not, I'll toss in one vote for a new thread & a sticky.

In addition to what others have said, a mod on the St.Joe's board had our matchup on Nov.29 (don't know if it still holds). And I'm sure it was just an oversight, but the prospectus has:

Feb.16 San Fran
Feb.18 San Diego

Thanks again.

This is sweet! I printed it out and now it's hanging in my office. One other small correction, though... the WCC tournament is in San Diego, not Santa Clara.

Also... Portland State at home AGAIN? How come GU hasn't travelled to play the Vikings on the road? Perhaps I'm just selfish, but I want to see them play at least twice in person next year!

Rumored 07-08 Zags Schedule as of July 23, 2007

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/5206/scheduleasofjuly23gx5.jpg

I don't know where I got the idea the Portland State was at GU, but I changed it in this version since I assume we'll play in Portland this year since they were at GU last year.

Edited to add UAB at K2, per BBScorer's find below

Just because PSU was home last year doesn't mean it'll be away this year.

(check the past few schedules and see what I mean)

I believe Portland State -- and Idaho, for that matter -- is what is referred to in the business as a "guarantee" game. The Zags guarantee PSU a large check for showing up, and, if form follows, the Zags notch another win.

All top programs play guarantee games.

Portland State would be an ideal opponent for a K2 game after finals week.

From the BlazerTalk admin (http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=50089&pid=2554122#pid2554122)
Just received a report that the Gonzaga deal may happen after all. Apparently it may be a home & home after all. We go to K2 this season and they will return game to Bartow. TV may now be involved. Could be a 4 game series. Stay tuned..........

It's never too late for the WCC to move the tournament back to where they think it belongs.
