According to SSF:

According to the Nebraska Rivals site, GU has offered Zach Hanson from South Dakota. Giacoletti was in SD for an AAU tourney this weekend

Hanson seems to be a true post prospect, as opposed to a guy like Luke Meilke, who will stretch out to the perimeter

Hanson was the South Dakota State Player of the Year and also holds offers from Nebraska and Creighton among others

It'll be hard to gauge Zach Hanson and new Zag Meilke due to competition levels.

I know it is the coach talking, but nice quote.
"Hanson's motor never stops," said Brent Norberg, head coach at Aberdeen Central High. "He's got multiple moves, he can finish with both hands and he can shoot dependably from 15 to 16 feet. If he was three inches shorter, he'd still be a great player."

Good weight at 240, we can hope for another inch or two of growth. Not really any other big-huge schools showing official interest yet but when we get in early like this it is usually a good thing.

That's not his Coach making that comment, Canadian. Not sure if you caught that.

Aberdeen & Pierre are not that close together in the state. Gives the comment that much more weight, IMO.

Mike Miller (freshman on Florida team that Casey beat with tip in & current NBA player) was out of S.D. There is some talent there, though sparsely populated.

Is Bob Kerrey a lock for Nebraska too?

A former high school team mate of mine lives in Pierre and knows and follows SD high school basketball, writes this........

"Zach Hanson is an awesome player. He is 6 8 and growing. He can handle the ball really well for a big kid and can jump through the ceiling. I have seen him play numerous times and some of the things he can do amaze me. He also is a good kid and does not showboat. The only problem I see is that the last 2 years at the end of the season is had a stress fracture. I personally think it is from playing too much basketball. He plays all summer. I think he needs to cut back a bit. I also think wherever he goes that he should be red shirted so he can get stronger".
