The western conferences (Big Sky, Big West, WAC, Mtn. West, Pac-12 and WCC) sent 12 teams to the tournment; only 3 beside Gonzaga remain:

Montana - gone
Long Beach - gone
UNLV - gone
SDSU - gone
UNM - one win, play tomorrow
CSU - gone
BYU - one win and gone
SMC - play tonight
Cal - gone
CU - one win, play tomorrow
NMSU - gone

This is definitely not a good trend for Gonzaga's sake.

Recruits want to be on good teams who play against good competition and if the perception is that the West is weak, that can't be good for us.

Gonzaga and St. Mary's both making the Sweet 16 would be huge for a lot of reasons.

St Marys

Isn't New Mexico in there?

Edit: 3 besides GU...got it.

The West Coast isn't doing much to dispell the "East is superior" talk....That's because it is....there are usually more good teams in Philly than the Mountain West and the Coast combined...

'cause there are more teams in the Big East than there are west of the Mississippi!

I'm hoping all three make it to the sweet sixteen. Feels great to have bot the Zags and the Buffs still dancing. I noticed that they started going after the same players a while back, and it is showing on the court. Would love for both to be the undisputed powerhouses 3-4 years down the line. They both have shown flashes that they could be final four.
