Can we rationalize that we are the underdog here?

Let's get our boys motivated --who has a bulletin board post for us?

We get sent across the country to play a team in their back yard.:horse:

East Coast Bias! :enraged:

Someone kicked Elias cat.

What have you got for our boys?

Not seen as much of an underdog as WVU in the Orange Bowl, but GU is still less selected overall as of right now in the ESPN Tournament Challenge National Bracket in our matchup.

Having lost both our conference and conference championship, I think will be all the motivation that the team needs. The Zags are not like WVU in any way. We are a team who lost two championships that have been very important to our guys. They will have to do something good in the NCAA tournament in order to avoid a stain on this class of Zags. That's what will motivate these guys. These guys are just a point away from being champions.

Playing a Big East school will also motivate the Zags. It always has, and we've always played well against Big East teams. Playing West Virginia will motivate us for two reasons. First because it has always been said that mid majors could not defeat Big East Teams who are in the middle of the pack (Like WV). The Zags will be out to show, once again that they can. And second because so many of the ESPN pundits predict a WV win including Dick Viatale and that Big East X coach who coached at Notre Dame.

Oh yes and of course there is the fact that we have to play WV in Pittsburg. And this isn't the first time we have been sent across the country to play a ten seed in their backyard.

Agreed. I feel like the guys will be looking to the NCAA tournament for the defining moment of their season. No extra motivation necessary.
