By "any time now" do you mean tonight possibly? Or some time within the next few days?

07-15-2007, 06:45 PM
I think I actually know what this thread is about. I guess I'm officially a junkie. :)

07-15-2007, 06:49 PM
Why is everyone afraid to say it?

Grant Gibbs.

Ok...I'm just guessing too.

:) = torture

I'm supposed to be studying for a test but that just went out the window...

Bob's offline right now, so I assume he dropped his little bomb and shuffled off to dinner chuckling, knowing the rest of us lunatics would be up all night waiting for news that probably won't come for at least a couple of days.

07-16-2007, 07:47 AM
Could "any time now" be today???

07-16-2007, 08:02 AM

07-16-2007, 09:38 AM
Any new info on a day or even if its this week on when he accepts an offer?

Yes, playing for Iowa State and near home is a special dream, and a special thing.

I'm an Iowa State fan, but I hope if Grant comes to ISU it's because he wants to be at ISU. I'm not worried about the PG situation here. He would be a great pickup and I want to land the best players in the state of course - but if it's truly his dream to play for the Zags I hope he follows his heart on this one. Granted I probably wouldn't say this if I didn't think we have a 4 year starter at PG that's going to be a freshman this year, but I'd be sick to my stomach if a kid picked ISU simply because it's closest and not the best fit.

Any time now

Maybe any time actually means ANY time - like maybe 3 months from now...

or maybe 3 seconds from now...

07-16-2007, 01:07 PM

Do not hesitate.

Show some mercy. Already 1,700 slowly roasted viewers. :)

>Already 1,700 slowly roasted viewers.

Or me checking back every 30 seconds to see if "It's time."

Bob, you're killing us.

Reborn - you're hilarious and awesome.

I think your name is incomplete though - Rebornzagfan-raving-atic

Yup, he says in 10,000 words what the rest of us say in 10. I think he gets paid by the word.

I'm interested in seeing what Jordan Printy, #24 on his HS team, is going to do at Indiana State this year. He certainly looks good for a 2 star player in all the highlights, and actually appears taller than Gibbs although he's listed as 6-4 on scout.com

07-16-2007, 07:50 PM
Can you throw us a bone here BZ and update us on what's going on lest your credibility go the way of the boy who cried "any time now."

07-16-2007, 08:32 PM
It was the "boy" who cried wolf. Peter went out into the woods and brought the wolf home.

07-17-2007, 10:46 AM
Must be any time now.

07-17-2007, 10:50 AM
Must be any time now.

Actually, it happened so fast, we missed it.

Is it time yet?

Gibbs Nears Decision about College Future

One of the state's most highly-prized basketball players is close to deciding where he will go to college and continue his playing career.

Marion Linn-Mar 6-5 guard Grant Gibbs apparently has narrowed his list to two Iowa State and Gonzaga.

According to a report in the Des Moines Register, Grant's mother Judy said that Iowa and Wisconsin of the Big Ten had been eliminated from the list, although both schools had offered scholarships.

No decision is expected until after the weekend, when Gibbs returns from a tournament in Tulsa, Okla., with his Martin Brothers AAU team.

Gibbs was an all-tournament selection in leading the Lions to a 24-1 record and the Class 4-A state title last March. In the state tournament, Gibbs averaged 15 points and seven rebounds in three games, including a 20 points, five boards, and seven steals against Urbandale in the state semifinals.

This like watching grass grow! My finger hurts from checking the board so much.

07-17-2007, 01:20 PM
any shot this thread could get to 10,000 views?

I will give 2-1 odds it makes it to 5,000 by the end of today

Still Waiting......

So the skeleton pic prompted me to act upon the scruples I'm feeling re: the earlier "BZ and the wolf" post I entered as it felt like looking in the mirror. For the record BZ, I doubt neither your credibility nor good intentions in keeping us informed as best you can when you can. I'm just an uptight fan with, apparently, a little too much stress in my life these days (not about b'ball :-) ) and I regret that it leaked out onto this board.
Cheers folks!
