A 1 in 10 shot at this kid...not the greatest odds in the world.

Wow, the list has gotten even more impressive.

I'd personally wait a year and make a huge push for Lavine, but I suppose that's not a smart way to go about things...guess you can say Lavine's the top of my wish list.

Amadeo, se vieni qui a Gonzaga, facciamo una bella festa.

Puoi fare un posto nella storia. Puoi essere il primo gioccatore italiano a Gonzaga.

Loosely translated this means: You have Gonzaga hair. Please don't listen to the people that say Spokane was the city in which they filmed "Deliverance" and come to our fine University.

Zags probably have a better chance at landing Amedeo than they do Lavine.

The new school that has come into the picture is Ohio State.

That's just low. Below the belt low, that is. :boxing:

For Lavine or Amedeo? Amedeo doesn't quite strike me as good enough for Ohio State but Lavine, yes.

Gaels On Waking

Gaels, on waking,
Do not always find themselves
In gutters with water running over their legs
And the pillow of the curbstone
Turning hard as sleep drains from it.
Mostly, they do not know

But hope for where they shall come to.
The opening of the eye is precious,

And the shape of the body also,
Lying as it has fallen,
Disdainfully crumpling earthward
Out of alcohol.
Drunken under their eyelids
Like children sleeping toward Christmas,

They wait for the light to shine
Wherever it may decide.

Often it brings them staring
Through glass in the rich part of town,
Where the forms of humanized wax
Are arrested in midstride
With their heads turned, and dressed
By force. This is ordinary, and has come

To be disappointing.
They expect and hope for

Something totally other:
That while they staggered last night
For hours, they got clear,
Somehow, of the city; that they
Burst through a hedge, and are lying
In a trampled rose garden,
Pillowed on a bulldog's side,
A watchdog's, whose breathing

Is like the earth's, unforced --
Or that they may, once a year
(Any dawn now), awaken
In church, not on the coffin boards
Of a back pew, or on furnace-room rags,
But on the steps of the altar

Where candles are opening their eyes
With all-seeing light

And the green stained-glass of the windows
Falls on them like sanctified leaves.
Who else has quite the same
Commitment to not being sure
What he shall behold, come from sleep --
A child, a policeman, an effigy?

Who else has died and thus risen?
Never knowing how they have got there,

They might just as well have walked
On water, through walls, out of graves,
Through potter's fields and through barns,
Through slums where their stony pillows
Refused to harden, because of
Their hope for this morning's first light,

With water moving over their legs
More like living cover than it is.

James Dickey (a slight revision by me as he must thought of SMC when he wrote it and titled it Bums on Waking)

I love Dirt, I respect SMC, but I will be physically sick if he picks SMC.

I really doubt this guy is coming - usually the players we get are ones that already know they are highly interested in GU b/c they like the reputation.

I saw him play Bishop Gorman here in Vegas...Great shooter, really quick shot, nothing special on the defensive end I was sitting with some Findlay fans and it sounded like he is leaning towards Arizona...just talk, who knows what he will do. It sounded like one of his friends is goint to UA.

Wow, and here we thought that had been kept under wraps.

The filming was done in the 509, with numerous white water scenes shot right downtown. But, in order to get the proper musical talent, we had to import the supporting cast members. Good thing several representatives from Moraga showed up to the casting call!

Hey, weíre looking at a sequel. Perfect time for the Gaels to be in town!

Go ZAGS! Beat SMC!

I decided not to ask ADV which fast food spot to hit on N. Division on my drive home from the game tonight.

Two thoughts.

Was not impressed by the 5 minutes I saw on ESPN ... but then again, it's possible these schools know a bit more about BBall than me.

The day we start losing recruits to SMC begins the countdown to the Apocalypse (insert semi-serious GU fan delusions of grandeur and overall elitism).

DOes anyone seriously think anyone but Lavine would fit here??? ...and produce much?
Go for the real blue chips guys. We're headed toward 2nd place without superior...and I mean superior kids.

Does Wiltjer appear good enough for Kentucky?

Jury is still out I suppose.

If Wiltjer was all that, we would be hearing a little more press by now. At GU, I doubt he would be any further along than Spangler. That ain't bad. Spangler, like all of the frosh, has shown well.

The real question is if SMC can handle prosperity.

Time will tell.

Imo ADV is a top 50 player in the 12 class.

I also think Lavine isn't going to happen. ADV would be a great fit, no way you can pass on him.

Can SMC handle prosperity?

Oh well. It was nice that he considered us. Might has well have watched a bunch of guys in St. Mary's shirts doing over-exaggerated Italian accents a la Super Mario for all the good that did us. "I'm a gonna go."

We'll see. If we win our last 4 WCC games then 'yes.' If we also handle Murray State on the road (where we now have more to lose since their loss) then 'hell yes.' If we collapse and give up either a share or the WCC crown outright, then I guess we just couldn't do it.

All this time, I thought the move was filmed in South Carolina!
