he isnt always pretty with his scoring but instinctual ability to be able to pull that rebound was just beautiful. I smiled broadly at his Carter assisted breakaway dunk and that rebound.

Concur. That hand was like a baseball mitt.

The kid definitely is a keeper - but I'm with Zag@LMU; he and EH need to work on the 2-11 FT shooting, that is atrocious

His ability to rebound is phenomenal. Even when he appears to be out positioned, he finds a way to get it. He must be stronger than he looks.

He looks pretty strong to me. Then again, you're pretty ripped...I can see why a 19 yo. kid @ 235 pounds might seem a bit scrawny in your eyes.

I look bigger than him from my couch, especially while doing curls when watching the game.

It induced a quick flashback to being younger and playing basketball in the front of the house. My older brother could palm the mini balls with amazement and would always seemingly snare them off the backboard with one hand. I guess that is the heart of it: He made Portland look like a bunch of little kids on the court. Spangs will have his way with the WCC for years to come.

maybe he can work on his free throw shooting..

Actually Coach G said on the after game radio show that Spangs is a very good free throw shooter. Has range out to 17 feet.

When asked about his one hand rebound in a post game interview with Heister, Spangler said, "The other guy held my other arm so I only had one hand," or something to that effect... I love that kid...

using his body and legs to get where he wants to be, which is in position. It's automatic with him. Very active. Quick hands and release w/putbacks, too. And doesn't need a whole lot of room to do all this, but takes up much room w/body.

Great fun to watch. smart. a banger.

He just needs to develop game legs.

The game slowed a lot for him last night. Hope he continues to get minutes.

Go ZAGS!
