Wow - Butler is a very poor shooting team, in every facet. Hope the stars don't align on this particular night...

This StatSmak page (http://zagsball.com/gonzaga-basketball/stat_smack/butler) is fun. That page for reasons Gonzaga is better. This page (http://butlerbluefever.com/butler-basketball/stat_smack/gonzaga) for reasons Butler is better.

A couple of tidbits from the Zaga is better page:

More violent crime happens per capita in Indianapolis so be careful if you visit (when compared to Spokane (according to the FBI).

Gonzaga has a much lower average debt at graduation according to Kiplinger than Butler ($24,883 vs $30,470).

Just hoping no one has a 'career high' game against us... seems to happen to us a lot!

Awesome links! Funny that they make anything a positive based on time, but still interesting to read!

Interesting, Butler has attempted 150 more FG's yet made only 30 more than the Zags and averages 8.7 fewer points per game. The Zags have the advantage in FG, 3 pt & FT shooting percentages. The fouls per game stat stands out with Zags averaging 15.6 to Butlers 20.8. The Zags are favored catching Butler in a down season, but they better bring it.

BTW- In looking at Butler's schedule, they lost to Evansville Aces, that's 2 seasons in a row, and in the 2009-2010 season they only beat them by 4. Evansville?

Two Bulldogs putting on a show before Christmas. Hopefully, both will be ready to go by tip-off:

Ken Pomeroy' (http://kenpom.com/team.php?team=Gonzaga)s tempo-free statistics don't add much in this case.

Butler's good defensively (94.5 defensive efficiency, 71st in the country) and bad offensively (98.9, 187th). Effective FG% is 42.7 (312th) and the excel in basically no area offensively.

Chrisshawn Hopkins uses a team-high 27 percent of their possessions when he's on the floor, but his o-rating is a gawdawful 82.4. Khyle Marshall is their best threat, with a 110.3 o-rating, but he uses only 20.8 percent of their possessions. Note: He'll probably be matched against Harris.

KenPom says we win this one 88 percent of the time and predicts a final score of Gonzaga 72, Butler 60.

No Coach ejections against the Zags! How can you take a statistition seriously when they ignore the stats? Are the others right? or even close?
I expect the Zags to win, but not based on stats, just the players on the floor.
