Hey there, BZ...
How many days are there until the first game? We should start a countdown.:p

Count backwards from November 1st. :)

I requested a countdown clock once; I'll do so again.

There's been a countdown clock of sorts at the top of this board from quite some time. It's directly below the advertisement banner.

sully, I must be missing something - I don't see a countdown clock anywhere. Is it only present occasionally or something?

It's not exactly a clock, more like a countdown. It's in red between the advertising banner and GU Boards logo. It reads, "117 days 'til November 1st, 2007". Yesterday it read, "118 days 'til November 1st, 2007".

I'm with LawZag - I don't see it either. I was starting to think something was wrong with me. Do preferences have to be set up a certain way?

No clock here, either. If anyone figures this out, let me know?

I'm looking at it now and I haven't done anything special to preferences that I'm aware of. Anybody else out there able to see it?

Directly above "GU Boards"
then "The Home of Gonzaga Basketball Talk:

I got it, and it's moving quite nicely.

I see it in bright red like the color of "Boards" in "GU Boards"

I see it... it's one of those things that drives me crazy. Reminds me how long we have to wait just until the first official practice! :D

Ditto, I tried different display modes and that did't do anything either.

Okay. I'm seeing it on a Mac using Safari as a browser. It also displays on my Mac using Internet Explorer. I just looked a PC with Windows XP Professional, using Internet Explorer as a browser and it does not display. So whether one sees it or not may not have anything to do with one's sanity.

Lately, Safari was been displaying oddly--it enlarges the Forum box and narrows the thread display.

If you can't see the countdown clock, it's because your browser is not set up with JavaScript enabled. In Mozilla Firefox, which is the browser I use, under Tools, Options, Content, the Enable Javascript box needs to be checked, like so:

When I uncheck that box, I no longer see the countdown clock, so it's got to be a JavaScript deal.
.
I don't know just how to accomplish the same thing using IE Explorer for the browser, but this link should help: Enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer 5x or 6x (http://gsaauctions.gov/brow_details/IE6instr.htm). ZN is not responsible if your computer catches fire and burns to the ground.

Mystery solved, I would say.

With IE 7 running Windows XP Media Ctr edition, I don't see the counter.

I can, however, refer to a calendar, as BZ suggested !!

Nov. 1 will get here soon enough. . .

A countdown is something I do not want to think about. Time seems to move more slowly when I want it to do the opposite.

I'm already losing my mind waiting for the last installment of Harry Potter.:explode:

I usually view with Firefox. It works grand.

This computer is only a few weeks old, has XP Pro and Explorer 6.0 with Java plug-ins 1.6.0 and 1.6.0_01 and the Java Console reports it is "Using JRE version 1.6.0_01 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM"

FWIW, The Explorer version doesn't show the countdown clock.
