I wonder if they have discovered college basketball yet. A question for our Mods. Do we have any known aliens (extraterrestrials) that are members of this board?

(is that a straight line or what?)

Distances are too far. I can't properly wrap my head around the term "light year", yet it would take many of those to get here.

Gotta be a rational explanation.

The Dominion is the most rational explanation I can think of.

Not sure if it's what you're after, but WooHoo is kinda "out there" at times, and of course he IS a Mod.

The article suggested that it is insects close to the camera lens. The shutter speed and the interlacing in the cameras can cause motion blur, making the wings look elongated. They also appeared to me moving toward earth, which could also be explained by your average, run-of-the-mill, satellite breaking to bits upon re-entry that we have grown so accustomed to.

That was a Huffington Post article, so I'm surprised they didn't blame them on George Bush.

@Mick: From the stuff I've been reading recently, some scientists think that we were seeded by organic molecules from space that hitched a ride on an asteroid (very hard to create organic molecules in our primordial oxidizing atmosphere) so technically, some would say that we're all aliens :]

Carl Sagan from Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan#Sagan_and_UFOs)

In one of his last written works, Sagan argued that the chances of extraterrestrial spacecraft visiting Earth are vanishingly small.

Sagan rejected an extraterrestrial explanation for the phenomenon but felt there were both empirical and pedagogical benefits for examining UFO reports and that the subject was, therefore, a legitimate topic of study."[64]

I agree with Sagan. His 30 year old "Cosmos" series is current and modern in scope.

* Pedagogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedagogy)

Sagan liked the UFO phenomenon because it lured young people into the sciences. A boon to people that teach the physics of the universe like Sagan did. The odds of visitation are astronomical (no pun intended) and only through study can one appreciate how long the odds are.

So, the aliens are going to use up 71million jigowatts of energy on their warp drive to get to Earth to watch that game?

I'm with Birdog on this one and voting for WooHoo.
Anybody who can get away with spinning a basketball with a sink full of dirty dishes has to be endowed with extraterrestrial powers.
1) He is a visitor from a far off place.
2) Does anybody from the hood remember WooHoo as a kid?
I think we have a pretty strong case.

If they had been visiting the Arizona Cardinals, Jan Brewer would have declared them illegal and demanded their deportation. . .

Saints - Colts was the game in question. . .can't imagine ET would want to see that mismatch either but since the game was in N'Orleans, maybe they were in search of a decent batch of jumbalaya. . .
