I predict that Carroll College has the same chance of beating GU as a cow has of walking out the back door of Spokane Slaugherhouse after spending an hour inside.

Now where did I put my sledgehammer.

Go Bulldogs! Get Bigger!

93-70 YIKES!

If we give up 70pts to Carroll College we will be in for a long year!

Anything more than 55 would not be good. I don't care if our new guys play most of the game or not.

After the initial tip, Mark Few storms the floor and head butts Sacre...causing him to run off the court crying.

Does Coach Few use a ladder of some sort? I'm sure that bringing a ladder or step stool onto the court during a live game could lead to some sort of punishment/violation by the NCAA but I'm not sure. Maybe someone could look into that for us.

I'm liking Johnny's prediction here. :000tens:

After the initial tip, Mark Few storms the floor and head butts Sacre...causing him to run off the court crying. Scared, the rest of the Gonzaga players run out of the building, crying for their mommies! The crowd screams and shakes, but stay in their seats! The Carroll College players poop their shorts, but the game commences. The fans begin to use their socks to cover their noses. Every 30 seconds a Carroll College player is taken to the hospital by ambulance. The remaining player sticks it out to the end is drenched in blood, but he proves he can take it. Final score, Mark Few 120 - Mr poopie pants 14.

Totally agree. I don't care if these guys beat EWU last year (or the year before, can't remember what the guy from Carol College said), if we don't destroy them like all other big teams win their expedition games, then we need to quit the "this is the best team ever" crap.

I say this is one of the best teams we've ever had and we end up winning 106-53 (we'll easily score triple digits because even our bench will be able to rack up the points).

None taken!!! I'll be wearing my Gonzaga gear all day tomorrow, no purple and gold for me! Zags dominate inside with Rob going for 16 and 9 in limited action. Dower leads the way with 19 and we win 94-62 and it's never in question.

While CC has no way of stopping our bigs, I have a feeling they can score in bunches. They put up 96 pts in their 1st game and were 17/30 from 3pt. The Fighting Saints feature a couple legit NAIA All-conference players whom have had success vs D1 schools in the past. One of their forwards was the "Montana POY" a couple years ago. I have an inkling we'll be praising our offense, yet frustrated with our defense following the game, esp since CC can shoot the 3 ball w/the best of 'em.

Yep. I remember Syracuse lost their exhibition game a couple yrs ago, then ended up winning the Big East the same year. It happens.

Andy Poling performed well vs 'Zona tonight with 14 pts, 6 rebs, 1 blk in just 21 minutes due to foul trouble.

I believe he averaged 15ppg, 8rpg last season for SPU. Regretful loss via transfer, imo...

this is exactly why I am not ruling out CC scoring 70 points. They can shoot the three ball. And it's also why Im not expecting a total blowout by winning by 40 or 50 pts as some might believe...

Also Few plans on playing everyone, and most likely the younger guys more then the starters....Few has begun the process of putting a team together, and that usually means a team of 8 or 9 guys by January. It begins tomorrow. He will want to see what the new guys do, includeing Edi

Yeah, I don't think giving up 70 is necessarily that bad, if either(1) it's an up and down game, or(2) they get a lot of their points when the Zags are up 30 in garbage time, and the deep bench incl. walkons are in.

More important imo is defensive fg% at or below 40% for as long as the game is competitive, and give up less that 30 in the 1st half.

Zags could play the same and win by 93-70 or say 78-55 depending whether the opponents play fast or work the clock, and have basically played equally well on D with either score.

I think this game will be a lot closer most of the way than most of you seem to think. Carroll is Senior laden team and experience can make a lot of difference. I see G.U. leading by ten or less at the half and pulling away in the second half. Final Gonzaga 87 Carroll 71.

Carroll College menís basketball coach Brandon Veltri announced Thursday that the Saints menís basketball team will tip off the 2011 season at Gonzaga on Oct. 28.

The Saints are 0-9 in the all-time matchup against the Zags. The last meeting vs. Gonzaga was on Dec. 19, 1992, when the Bulldogs ran away with a lopsided 106-56 victory in Spokane, Wash.

86-62 Zags.

CC gets punished in the paint. Gonzaga big and strong inside.. maybe a little closer.. say 81 to 62.. Dower with 15 points...Harris with 8 rbs....Stockton with 4 a's....may be a very close game at the half...good team, deserves respect.

Will be scratching my head and chuckling tomorrow when the GU Board is (yet again) collectively shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you, after the Saints drain 12 treys and talley 77 total points, only to end up on the short side of a 13 point game.

Zags win only because the free throw margin is 31 to 8 as 4 of the combative Carrolers' 5 starters foul out trying (but failing) to guard Sacre, Harris and Dower in the lane. Fifteen GU turnovers result in making it a close game throughout until, finally, Zags pull away as the Saint's plucky 5' 9" team mgr is the only one left off the bench to try and "plug the middle" in contest's waning minutes.

After the game Mark Few says: "I hope we can do a better job on our perimeter defense going forward..."
