post from chat, lunardi on zags sked:
mwbGonzaga24: Thanks for chopping out Gonzaga by ranking the top ten BCS [nonconference] teams. Why chop out the non-BCS schools? At least give them a fair chance to make a list. But, then again, is there such a thing as a non-biased statistic?
lunardi: This was a BCS-only study for a reason. There are few (if any) schools outside those conferences that can consistently command high-level opponents both home and away. As such, only BCS schools have true control of their nonconference schedules. The rest of the country, to varying degrees, has to play off the "big boys" and make due with whatever secondary opportunities are made available.
For the record, if placed into the BCS pool, the Zags would rank second in toughest nonconference scheduling over the past four years (behind only Tennessee).
