Taelor Karr was in town earlier this week taking in the program.

Taelor was a two year starter at Kansas State has left the program. Besides visiting her she has visited Memphis, Colorado, and Purdue is now getting involved.

Taelor, a 5-foot-8 sophomore guard from Paola Kansas, started 29 of 32 games and was K-State's third-leading scorer with a 10.3-point average in helping lead the Wildcats to a 21-11 record. She also was third on the team in rebounding with 4.8 a game and in minutes played with a 33.3 average. As a freshman, she started 30 of 32 games and averaged 9.1 points and 4.5 rebounds.

U-tube has a few videos of her, here's an interview from March. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrhN56Tsq7g

Sweet left handed shot.

This would be a terrific get at a time the Zags lose Redman and Standish. I hope she chooses Gonzaga.

She'll decide within a week. Zags are in it for her. GU was her last visit. If she were to choose GU, the lineup could be--

Palmer or Viela
Palmer or Karr
Albanez
Greinacher
Cheslik

That would be a strong lineup if all goes right.

It would great to have a proven performer like Karr join the team. I would hope that our respectful coaching staff, recent performance and incoming teammates would compare favorably with the other schools she's considering.

It does.

Doing very well with Collier, Corral and other top-notch 2012 recruits as well. The beat goes on.

Gotta ask why she is leaving K St. She's from Kansas and played starter minutes. Was there a coaching change or was she recruited over? What's the deal? Not complaining, just curious.

Patterson did not renew her scholarship for next year forcing her to transfer - no reason given. Fans were outraged. She was a real fan favorite.

Looking forward to watching her in pick-up games. She'll be a key player for great teams when she's eligible. The future is very bright for the GU women.

Glad Taelor is here and getting into school and the program. It's great she will have a year to gel with the team much like Hayden Palmer did last season. I'm looking forward to Taelor becoming a fan favorite here too. And thanks KSU-Fan for the great up todate information.

Story posted today (http://www.wibw.com/sports/headlines/Karr_Leaves_K-State_For_Gonzaga_125047044.html?ref=044):
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's basketball head coach Kelly Graves announced the addition of junior guard Taelor Karr to the 2011-12 Bulldog squad. Karr transferred to Gonzaga from Kansas State University and will redshirt the upcoming season due to NCAA transfer rules.

"I am so excited to have Taelor in our program," stated Graves. "She is a proven player at a competitive Division I level having had two outstanding seasons at Kansas State University. I love both her athleticism and her skill set. She can shoot it with range, can attack the basket, and she's an excellent passer with very good court vision and she's a tremendous rebounder. I like the fact that she's a gym rat and has a very cool demeanor on the court-she's a very confident player and I love that. Also, a great student having been named to the All Big-12 Academic team, Taelor will be a good fit for our team and our university."

Karr played 32 games and started 29 at Kansas State as a sophomore last season, who finished 21-11 overall and 10-6 in the Big 12. She finished the season scoring 329 points, grabbing 153 rebounds, passing out 62 assists and blocking five shots. Karr's 10.3 points per game ranked third on the team and 26th in the Big 12 in scoring. She registered 18 double-figure contests and notched a career-high 19 points against the University of Kansas, Jan. 29.

As a freshman, Karr appeared in all 32 games and started 30 including the final 23 contests of the season. She finished third on the team in scoring (9.1 ppg), rebounds (4.5 rpg), and assists (1.7 apg). She also led the team in steals with 49, becoming the first KSU freshman to do so since the 2005-06 campaign. Karr scored in double-figures in 16 games, including 6-straight from Dec. 29 - Jan. 23. She earned Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors once and was named to the 2009 Fall Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Karr, 5-8, is originally from Paola, Kansas and played at Paola high school.

Karr told WIBW's J.B. Bauersfeld via facebook: "I am at gonzaga and am already here taking summer classes! Best decision I ever made!"

why does she have to sit out if her scholarship was taken away?.....and, she is starting school this summer.....doesn't sound fair to me....

KSU Fan indicated that she didn't chose to renew, not that it was taken away. That is consistant with other articles too. No different that Hayden Palmer or Katelyn Redmon.
