Gonzaga freshman to be Maiki Viela was named to the 40 player Parade All-American team on Monday. The team will be in the May 15 Parade Sunday Magazine. What a catch for Graves and GU:

I see some good recruits coming in on the ladyzags' team, led by Maiki Viela. Parade AllAmerican is quite an honor. I am enjoying reading about the LadyZags today. Graves is building another strong team.

Is she expected to start at PG this coming season? Huge shoes to fill but I like her stat line.

I think that Haiden Palmer, a 5-8 transfer from Oregon State is the likely starter at PG next season. As a freshman at OSU, she started all 31 games and averaged 10.8 pts. a game. She was Pac-10 Conference all-freshman. She's had a year to learn the GU system...she may be the WBB equivalent of Dan Dickau. She's very good.

Sounds like it's her's stop to lose. She worked with CV last summer. JR will be fighting for minutes as the second point into the game. Should be a great competition.
