To help replace Meech and, to a some degree, Carter...

Scout's Greg Hicks after Pump Tourney a few days ago:

Tyrone Wallace, 6-3 PG/SG Bakersfield (Calif.) High. Wallace is our top rated prospect among the point guards in the west for 2012 and he didnít disappoint at this event. A long, lean lefty with a very good feel for the game, Wallace isnít outstanding at any one aspect of the game. However, heís good to very good in many areas. Heís not a great shooter, but he makes enough threes to keep a defense honest and his stroke isnít broken. With coaching, and repetition, he figures to be a more than adequate shooter at the next level. Heís an above average rebounder and passer, with excellent vision, and the ability to finish inside against size. He also has a terrific off-hand and prefers to finish inside with his right hand. Heís a good athlete, with upside to his body, and the potential to defend multiple positions at the next level. Heís one of the elite prospects in the west for 2012.

Hicks' recruiting udate:

UCLA, Colorado, Cal, UNLV, Fresno State, Arizona State, Gonzaga, Penn, San Diego State and Nevada are some of them,Ē said Wallace.

ESPN's Joel Francisco claims Tyrone can play the 1, 2 and 3, so he is versatile. And ESPN ranks him Top-100.

Gotta love the size if he can play the point. Sounds like stiff competition.
