Go Denision!

The other team that is projected to make the finals is Anderson. They are led by Kevin's World championships teamate, 6'6" Forward Dyshawn Pierre (Butler and New Mexico State are interested), he and guard Justin Edwards are a powerful inside outside combo on the court.

Lets hope to see the two teams play in the final...

#2 Denison smashing #7 Governor Simcoe 53-25 at the half. cant find any stats.

Too many ads, not enough ball, almost a waste of time watching. 73-44 after 3

Kevin is putting on a show.

My unofficial count at the half. 26 points, 10-14 from the floor (incl. 4-7 from three) 2-2 FTs. Something like 5 rebounds, 2 assists (plus a couple other passes that led to free throws) 2 steals.

Not too shabby, esp. considering he's got his shooting hand taped up.

Got distracted by the Big East & Sun Belt games on the telly, but I think Kevin ended up w/ 31. Only took about 5 shots in the 2nd half (made two). Definitely a better performance than the a.m. game, where he was prob. no better than 40% from the field.

What is with the background music? I am too tired this morning for that stuff. Thanks for the link ZN.

Never mind about the music thing. It is not coming from the game. Sorry.

Denison wins 80-51. Kevin with 23 points. Denison plays Anderson for the gold medal at 8:00 tonight (5:00 PM PST). Game will be webcast here (http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/boysaaabasketball/index.cfm?DSP=Chapter&ID=6466).

As mentioned previously they are up against the #1 ranked AAA school in the province Anderson, whohave two players getting serious D1 looks, I understand that Justin Edwards their high scoring guard guard has been offered by Georgia Tech, while Dyshawn Pierre (Butler and New Mexioco State) is an explosive forward who matched up well last summer against international competition especially when Anthony Bennett was injured. The point that I am tryimg to make is that many on this board question the level of competition that Kevin plays against up in Canada, and while he isn't up against Findlay Prep or St. Benedicts, playing against teams like Vaughan Rd (previously discussed) and Anderson are certainly higher than most would think.

03-09-2011, 05:26 PM
Anderson leads 29-23 over Denison. 5:09 left in the 1st half

03-09-2011, 05:40 PM
3 point game at the half, 38-35 Anderson. Denison hit a three at the buzzer.........
It will be an interesting second half! Kevin tends to stand up when things get tough.

03-09-2011, 06:10 PM
57-53 with 4:25 left, still within striking distance. Pangos guarding Pierre at times, he looks taller than 6'1".

03-09-2011, 06:20 PM
looking tough now, down 7 with 1:50 to go. C'mon Kevin lets hit a few more 3s, they are double teaming him with Pierre and a guard.

03-09-2011, 06:33 PM
Final 69-64 Anderson.

Anyone watching would have seen Pierre's athleticism and a cohesive team around him, in the end too much to counter. Kevin played very well though.

Kevin finished with 26 points, Pierre the same.

Next stop the U-18 world championships with Canadian teammates Khem Birch, Myck Kabongo, Anthony Bennett, Kyle Wiltjer, Anthony Wiggins and others (perhaps Pierre may even get a look see). Stay tuned.

But but but...we want him in Spokane getting ready!!!;)

No use startimg an new thread, here is an article on the game along with some quotes from Kevin.

“We tried to make a late charge, but they play an awkward kind of zone and that put us off our game a little bit,” said Pangos, whose summer plans include representing Canada at the U-19 world championship in Latvia before heading to Gonzaga University on a scholarship.

Anderson used 6'6" Pierre effectively against Kevin, still he scored 26 points.....

Great, ZN. There's an outside chance he could get here in July and start summer session II, albeit a tad late. Hope so.
