    Long road trip

I just got done driving from Leavenworth Kansas to Billings, Mt in one day and then on to Spokane the next. I'm really tired

I saw (the most interesting) the Black Hills of SD

I saw (the most boring) Eastern SD OMG!

    thought I'd share.

I didn't see a single elk or moose, but lots of dead racoons.

Iowa is really boring in case you've never seen it, but the humidity made up for it. I think I'll move there.

Know the feeling, managed to nail one between Creston and Seven Bays, came around a curve and it was the turkey or over the embankment. Turkey lost.

I take offense at the comment about damned Montana, but if it keeps people out, then I'm all for it.

I've driven from St. Louis to Billings, and it is supremely boring. The Black Hills are about all that's interesting to see for the whole trip.

About 2 weeks ago, was heading down a highway here on LI and I see two pigeons working on something in the road. One was facing me, the other had his back to me. As I approached at 60 or so MPH the one facing me took evasive action. The other one... well... he kind of did a "Hey, Bob, Where you going?" looks back and tries disparately to get out of my way. It was just a little too late, clipped him on the right side of my van.

IMHO his buddy should have said something... instead he left his "wingman" without so much as a warning.

I got a Peacock once. I had just started driving, and I'd been told that a bird will always get out of the way. Someone failed to mention that large birds don't count in that calculation. So I cruised right on through that peacock, who managed to just just high enough to splat on my winshield about 12 inches from my face.

The bird was on my way to school (along 199th St west of 72nd Ave outside Battle Ground in case any one cares), and I passed the remains every day for over a week before someone scraped up the remains. I would have stopped but 1) I was always late for school and 2) the road was narrow and there was nowhere to pull off.

I am guessing, with that schedule, you didn't stop to gaze at the ongoing progress at the Crazy Horse Memorial. I would like to see how they are doing with it these days.

Sorry, no reportable road killing incidents
