Pretty tight line, though. Hope the Zags can make somebody rich tonight.

If I still had my bookie, or the casino around here made book, I'd place a straight bet on zags to win (taking no points). Make more money, too, & not have to worry about the spread. Which is what I expect to happen, anyway.

Yep, Zags +155...and Everyone is hammering this item (89%) of money is on GU ML.

The general rule of thumb is go ATS with a bunny on the ML. As someone who had a major pay-day spoiled back some number of years ago with both a ML & ATS on UConn against Duke in the FF, it is good to hedge your bets (pun intended). Man that still bugs me to this day although UConn is still the only team I collected on a future for winning it all.

anyone else notice the line for Arizona at USC? it's Arizona -1, which seems like a real good deal to me.

Looks almost TOO good. Something is not right there.

Something seriously askew about the betting on GU/SMC. Now 90% of the action on the spread is on the Zags, yet the line has moved from Gaels -3 1/2 to -4. Not a fortuitous move for Joe public bettors or GU fans. That 10% of sharps is wielding some SERIOUS steam. Zag backers take heed.

You guys that post on this recurrent thread speak a different language. My Google Translate button yields nothing. Care to translate in lay terms?

Sorry Ziggy. Put simply: The line (or spread) was opened by the bookmakers at SMC favored by 3 1/2 pts. 6000+ bets later, with 90% of the bettors (Joe Q Public-you and me) backing the Zags, that spread should have dropped to SMC by 3 or even 2 1/2. Instead it increased by a half point!

This usually means that professional betting syndicates (or Sharps) are comprising the 10% of the total on SMC. The Books, paying close attention to where the bets are coming from, and respecting their info, are moving the line in the opposite direction from where it should be going. In betting parlance, this is called "steam". Amateur or casual bettors ignore this kind of trend at their peril. Hope you find this helpful.

My money will go with SMC tonight, but my love will go with the Bulldogs.

Go Bulldogs! Win in Vegas!

There is a BIG difference between the line and the "money line". 90% of the money going on the underdog is not unusual for the money line. If 90% of the money was going on the underdog on the straight line then the line would drop - always.

Vegas wants 1/2 the money on each side. They want to win either way. The money line and the straight line are different. Way different.

USC 65 Arizona 57. There's a reason those casinos are so big...
