BULLDOGS HOST SECOND PLACE SAINT MARY’S THURSDAY: The Gonzaga University women’s basketball team welcomes Saint Mary’s College to the McCarthey Athletic Center Thursday. The Gaels are currently in second place in the West Coast Conference standings at 9-3. The Gonzaga versus Saint Mary’s contest will tip at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING SAINT MARY’S: Saint Mary’s College is currently 17-10 overall and 9-3 in the West Coast Conference. The Gaels’ 9-3 record stands them in second in the league standings. SMC has won four-straight; its last loss coming on Feb. 3 at Pepperdine (69-48). The Gaels are led by both Jasmine Smith and Louella Tomlinson. Smith is averaging 17.0 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while Tomlinson is averaging 14.1 points, 9.6 rebounds and 5.0 blocks per game.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST THE GAELS: Gonzaga University holds the 28-22 lead in the all-time series and has won 18 of the last 19 meetings, including 15-straight. The Bulldogs earned a 87-52 victory at the McCarthey Athletic Center and a 88-75 at McKeon Pavilion a season ago and defeated the Gaels 106-77 in their first meeting this season, Jan. 27.

SCOUTING SAN DIEGO: The University of San Diego currently holds the 14-12 overall mark and is 4-8 in West Coast Conference play. The Toreros have won three out of their last five games, but dropped a 77-69 decision at Saint Mary’s College in their last contest. USD is led by Dominique Conners and Sam Child at 14.0 points and 12.9 points per game, respectively.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST THE TOREROS: Gonzaga University holds the 30-20 advantage in the all-time series and has won 18 of the last 19 meetings. The Bulldogs lone loss to the Toreros since the 2002-03 season was a 70-66 setback in the West Coast Conference Championship game of the 2007-08 campaign....
