Hey all,

I just got home from my honeymoon in St. Lucia in the Carribean. As I'm getting off the plane last Monday night, I see a guy with a Gonzaga hat on the plane. I never had a chance to talk to him but our web is growing. If it was someone on this board, give me a shout out.

Question: Where is the most remote place you've seen GU gear? (not on someone in your traveling party)

First mention....St. Lucia

I bought (on campus) 2 t-shirts for the two sons of a business associate who lives in B. Aries, Argentina. The sons are big basketball fans (locally) and had been after their dad to buy them some pro-team shirts like Bulls. I told him they needed shirts for a real basketball team not the pro variety! I have not seem the boys wearing them but I bet they have. BTW I once saw a Bulls cap for sale in a tiny little store in a tiny village near the Nicaragua/Honduras border!

Also congrats to you and the new Mrs. 23dpg!:D

A Nike store in Germany? I thought all stores were the three stripe variety

I swear, my wife has the largest collection of Gonzaga sweatshirts/tee shirts, and she wears one almost everyday. We went to Las Vegas and she wore one every day.

Kind of ironic considering last March, but an old Navy buddy sent me an Indiana University basketball tee shirt recently. It really is a cool looking shirt, but I just can't seem bear wearing it :(.

Over here in Europe i've seen some Zags stuff not on GU kids studying abroad. In Florence, I saw a young kid (5 or 6)with a GU t-shirt on, as well as a high schooler who was on Spring Break. It was nice to see a little bit of home in a foreign country. :)

Jerusalem, Israel and Seoul, South Korea. My wife and I both wore Zags stuff when we lived in those two places and we gave some stuff to people there who wear it today.

If you are going to be in Ireland this September and see someone stumbling around wearing this:

be sure to introduce yourself! I picked it up for $19.95 at Spokane International in late April and applied the savings to an over-priced pre-flight Bloody Mary - the only bargain I've ever found in any airport in any city.

Going back home to Ohio, a woman who said her son-in-law played basketball at GU was one of the flight attendants on my connecting flight in Atlanta. I didn't have a chance to ask her who it was though. :-/

A good friend of mine went to Honduras, and spotted this man:

Granted it's more about Pepperdine, but there's still a bit of Gonzaga on there. :)

Guayaquil, Ecuador... granted it is a family member (Wife's cousin's Husband) but he is a loyal Zag fan that bought his hat in NY and took it back to Ecuador with him.

I need a little help. I'm trying to post a picture from St. Lucia that I took and downloaded on my computer. When I try to add it as an attachment it says this:

wedding june 2007 271.jpg:
Your file of 1.51 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 97.7 KB for this filetype.

Can anyone help?

You could resize the picture at a place like www.shrinkpictures.com, or on your photo editing software, but personally I find that to be a pain in the rear.

I'd personally just upload it to www.tinypic.com or www.photobucket.com, and post the link in between a tag like this: LINK HERE . There won't be an attachment "link" but the picture will post like the one I posted a few posts above.^

That should help you get around the forum's KB limits.

My mom sent me a GU alum t-shirt here in Kuwait - a size small! - I haven't worn that since like grade school. So I donated it to the post chapel which gives clothing to the Catholic diocese here in Kuwait (yes, there is one. The Bishop Camillo Ballin is from Italy and doubles as the Vatican's Emissary to Kuwait). The cathedral in Kuwait City distributes the clothes to the many, many third country nationals working here in Kuwait. There is a very large Filipino population here that is Catholic. So somewhere in the middle east, there is a small Filipino laborer wearing a GU Alumni shirt.
