No need to agonize: These Zags are what they are

Everything we know about anything we learned at the movies, and so it is with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

There is a scene in the old courtroom classic “The Verdict” in which a booze-beaten Paul Newman tries to save a lost-cause trial – and stave off his own inevitable failure and resignation – by insisting, “There is no other case. This is the case.”

Well said, gamagin! You saved me about an hour, so I can relax and watch a movie with my grandson!

No kidding. It looks as if he’s even taking a crack at a mustache, but further investigation might be necessary.

Zags, known for mop tops and almost-staches. ;)

That exactly captures the Zag zeitgeist at this point of the season. Really well written.

he notes stock got out of position and then came back to make the steal. In my memory, Meech was in front of the shooter and stock ran back behind him to try & block, then made the steal & drive.

If blanchette is correct (and he seldom gets it wrong) then Stock must have overrun the shooter, Meech stepped up to put a hand in his face and Stock came back for the steal. anyone remember which is correct ?

Great play in any event, hustle, smart, highlight film worthy, and a good lesson in helping each other out.

That's how I remember it. Though, he was shooting from wherever he wanted last night so who knows. Good recovery regardless. The block from behind had little visions of a tiny, white Austin dancing in my head.

If Stockton could somehow magically dunk the roof would have blown off that place.

There is some irony somewhere in how we used to ##### and moan, moan and ##### about how weak our conference was.

That's important cause he gets paid on page hits. In this world where electronic delivery is forcing many newspapers out of business, please support the online version of good writers by supplying a link for people to click. Also, click the ad's on the page once so the page gets some revenue.

I saw Stockton dunk in pre-game of the LMU game at LMU. Couldn't believe my eyes!
